Brian Harvey what a beautiful voice he's got and always had and this is live. This will always be my favourite Christmas song as long as Brian is singing. East 17 were the BEST back then. My older sister loved them ❤
From one great boy band respectfully to another, E17 and that includes Brian Harvey who's story and seeking of justice many of us follow today, the number one spot at Christmas 1994. What an achievement chaps! Great song.
To think this song was written about the sad suicide of Tony’s brother and coping with grief makes so many people happy every Christmas over 26 years later just phenomenal. Also Tony Mortimer did not want this to be released as a single.
I regularly get slated for my opinion on this, but I still think it’s a brilliant song and a great Christmas song. I also think it was very humble of Take That to introduce the song. How the tables have turned though. 😮
I think Tony is the only one who has anything to show for being in e17, thats cos he wrote all the songs I expect the other lads are having to do regular jobs now.
Liberty always had respect for Brian and love his voice , he made some mistakes , so what , who don’t growing up….without fame let alone with it , I made loads of em…….f liberty he has been left without money those tracks and the band would be piss all without him and his voice. God bless you Brian❤️🎤👊🏼
Baby if you've got to go away don't think I could take the pain, won't you stay another day? Oh don't leave me alone like this, don't you say it's the final kiss, won't you stay another day? Don't you know we've come too far now, just to go and try to throw it all away. Thought I heard you say you love me, that your love was gonna be here to stay. I've only just begun to know you, all I can say is won't you stay just one more day? Baby if you've got to go away don't think I could take the pain, won't you stay another day? Oh don't leave me alone like this, don't you say it's the final kiss, won't you stay another day? I touch your face while you are sleeping and hold your hand, don't understand what's going on. Yes, in 1991 they changed the rules. I preferred them miming myself. At least you got to hear the single then (the same you'd hear if you went out and bought it).
@@andrewsmith2757 I didn't because miming doesn't make people and you know what happened when Nirvana was told they could only sing live and mime their instruments.
In the nineties take that were more popular than e17 but you could admit to liking e17 atleast, would have been called a sissy for being a take that fan though.
So unfair, Brian had the voice, Tony wrote it, walked away with the £££ then had the nerve to physically assault Brian quite recently. The band would have been nothing without Brian - the ecstasy story in the papers back then was staged too. Shame.
@@rentonshill561 He was set up, the manager wanted him out of the band. Tony Mortimer had said almost thew exact same thing as Brian Harvey did about a week or two before & nobody cared. It is a very long story but there are 2 interviews on here where he explains it, one is with Eddie Is Ok & the other one is with Red Pill Phil.
It's funny how Tony made the original comments on E, yet Brian was the one they choose to talk about what Tony brought up. Screams blue murder(foulplay). But thems the breaks and Brian been young dumb and gullible fell for it hook line and the sinker.
They were chavs before chavs was even a proper thing. Can't knock his voice though or the other dude's writing, even if they did look like they would mug you for walking on the same side of the street as them.

I know Tony created the song, but Brian is the voice behind the song. Nobody else could do it justice. Big love to all members.

Yes I know 😃😃❤💖his voice is brilliant 👏 ☺😃❤
❤️❤️❤️
Shame there wasn't much upstairs or he could have had a much longer career.

Brian was the voice of east 17 ! The best performer and a lovely guy that has been wrongfully vilified! Love you Brian!

@Brian Harvey. You still in 2021 have a voice of an angel 😍❤👌
Two of my favorite bands I listened to in the '90s! Take That and EAST 17! So different and so beloved❣️❣️❣️I miss 90's!
Brian was East 17 with backing dancers. Bigup BHTV
Brian and Tony.
Props to Tony Mortimer for writing this. Also INTRODUCED BY TAKE THAT!!
One of the best songs that was ever wrote in the 1990s. People still love it today. Amazing
Tony may have written the songs but Brian was the talent behind the voice that people heard and made the band , it's unfair he was not paid fairly
War of ego's but Brian did himself no favours by saying it was cool to take drugs.

Amazing song one of the best Christmas number 1 ever, I remember this back in times where life seemed more fun and less chaotic!

wow they are actually singing.
Never realized that was Robbie Williams at the start.
They actually sing life on TOTP??? That's rare...
Nov 1991 onwards all acts had to sing live. 1989 had a lot of acts sing live!

They seem to be singing live in parts over the recording. Piano is clearly not turned on.

What a decade, cold enough to need to wear coats indoors but just warm enough not to need any other clothes. WTF?

Songwriters always get the most profit ! That's the way it is
Without the songs you have no singer. Songwriters always draw the dough.

Brian Harvey - Ran himself over with his own car - I'll have whatever he was smoking.
He reckons his drink was spiked with Zopiclone before he got in the car... He hadn't got the weed yet, he was on his way to get it.

About Tony Mortimer’s brothers suicide , great song but stop giving Brian credit for it
Why? Brian can sing where as Tony cannot.
i think these guys could clean up if they just got their act together ...there are enough oldies with cash to spare to make it worth their while.
Very strange performance. Heart felt love song delivered by a gang of thugs who seem triumphant about it. Weir.
Stop judging people on how they look
