Yeah I did enjoy watching them suffer (god save their soul), but despite how I believe they expressed their genuine reactions throughout this LP series, I can't help but to feel my view has been skewed. There are things you don't notice while you are just watching someone play a game, and obviously each person feel different about everything. Initially this "living world within a video game" didn't sound as stupid so there is a possibility that I may feel different about it if I play the game. I remember falling behind on this series and then binging the last few hours (three/four episodes? more?) of Omikron before the new year. Exactly 6 minutes before midnight I finished it in its entirety. It gave me the biggest, most painful migraine I think I have ever experienced. I was glad to have it over and done with before the fireworks began. Like a cleansing ritual, I left it in the past, sealed away as a distant and painful memory. Sometimes I forget it even happened at all... but then I see compilations like these and I... I remember, just for a moment, the meaning of pride, hubris, and *suffering*.
I remember watching it and dropping off for a bit due to the blatantly obvious audio desync issues. When it finally got fixed I was like okay I'll watch this get to those parts and listen like a podcast till it returns to normal. I think it was probably because a lot of their LP's or videos just became fucked due to some audio bug or microphone fuck up or audio desync around that time and I was quite fed up with the effort. The LP overall was very worth it afterward and i rewatch it constantly due to the rollercoaster of emotions, but that was just the tipping point of frustration at that point for me when I'm like "wow, even the premium LP intended to target your core audience?"

my favorite parts of this lp are the discovery of what advice actually does the search for namtar or meshkan (even i don't fucking remember which is which) the game breaking glitch where they had to do commentary over woolie and pat solving the level the quest for items where they had to make a potion using the beshem the part where they couldn't figure out how to get on to a platform to lift them up
This game is the one that nearly destroyed the Best Friends, and stole their souls. Espicially during that segment of finding the door to unlock with the screwdriver, that was some real anger at that time.

JosieCat the weirdest part is that I’ll watch entire compilations then rewatch the entire full lp too. I like the condensed versions just as much as all the dumb small talk they make in between big moments. They’re great guys.
The only point I'll make in defense of a guy defending the game at the time was he was totally right about how they had a map and weren't using it till several parts in. That would've solved early navigation issues. With that being said...man this game's not great. Also I'm totally with you Mason, watching a koopy compilation of this series just doesn't do it justice. You need to feel that nasal level burn by embracing the whole thing all over again.
I still think that the most absurd thing about this game that to access what essentially story recap costs A) anything at all, B) the same currency for saving your game. Also I don't think there is a single curved edge in this game.
I'm amazed that this dude felt the need to create a fast forward effect. He's not cutting away from the best bits of the LP, he's making you watch them sped up without the sound like some kind of medieval torturer. Getting onto that lift platform is like the best moment of the LP, and he was just like nope, nope, enjoy this sped up footage without sound.
So, they made it through Demon Souls, all three Dark Souls and Bloodborne but it was trying to find Meshka'ns door in Omicron that had Pat and Woolie at each others throats, good job guys, good job.
SO. As a literal child, I was able to find a copy of the Demo disk of this game. I think it was my public library????? And when I played it, it was so confusing to my child brain I needed to follow a walkthrough. And when I finally got to the end of the demo.... it ended with the weird sex scene followed by the weird dream with the demon and the other bullshit that followed that scene then the demo ended. It was so abrupt and weird that my child brain immediately forgot this game ever existed until the moment these assholes resurfaced the memory with this LP.
One of the most frustrating moments in any lp ever was the health kit situation at the weird fight club/tournament place. How Woolie couldn't have somehow understood that, it was just mind numbing.

Just because it was _possible_ to find the right door without using the screwdriver every time, doesn't mean that the task wasn't made monumentally less confusing by simply using the screwdriver on every fucking door that was available. This applies doubly when you consider that the amount of time you're using identifying each door is more or less the same as it would be if you just went around and used the screwdriver as well. I understand Woolie's logic about doing things sequentially but there's no way you can ever justify giving less information rather than more when it comes to situations like these, especially when it's perfectly obvious that progression has stalled, as well.

This game is the one that nearly destroyed the Best Friends, and stole their souls. Espicially during that segment of finding the door to unlock with the screwdriver, that was some real anger at that time.

JosieCat the weirdest part is that I’ll watch entire compilations then rewatch the entire full lp too. I like the condensed versions just as much as all the dumb small talk they make in between big moments. They’re great guys.
The only point I'll make in defense of a guy defending the game at the time was he was totally right about how they had a map and weren't using it till several parts in. That would've solved early navigation issues. With that being said...man this game's not great.
Also I'm totally with you Mason, watching a koopy compilation of this series just doesn't do it justice. You need to feel that nasal level burn by embracing the whole thing all over again.

To be fair! I've seen a guy use the advice very early on and it DOES gave him a legit advice... in a form of a pretentious riddle.
I'm amazed that this dude felt the need to create a fast forward effect. He's not cutting away from the best bits of the LP, he's making you watch them sped up without the sound like some kind of medieval torturer.
Getting onto that lift platform is like the best moment of the LP, and he was just like nope, nope, enjoy this sped up footage without sound.
Really great to see that not only is this another 3 hour OMIKRON compilation but it features different clips of the pain. Seriously, great job!

So, they made it through Demon Souls, all three Dark Souls and Bloodborne but it was trying to find Meshka'ns door in Omicron that had Pat and Woolie at each others throats, good job guys, good job.
The twist of the first David Cage game is that David Cage is a demon and his games are all traps to steal the souls of the unwary gamer... Goddamn!

SO. As a literal child, I was able to find a copy of the Demo disk of this game. I think it was my public library????? And when I played it, it was so confusing to my child brain I needed to follow a walkthrough. And when I finally got to the end of the demo.... it ended with the weird sex scene followed by the weird dream with the demon and the other bullshit that followed that scene then the demo ended. It was so abrupt and weird that my child brain immediately forgot this game ever existed until the moment these assholes resurfaced the memory with this LP.

One of the most frustrating moments in any lp ever was the health kit situation at the weird fight club/tournament place. How Woolie couldn't have somehow understood that, it was just mind numbing.

Just because it was _possible_ to find the right door without using the screwdriver every time, doesn't mean that the task wasn't made monumentally less confusing by simply using the screwdriver on every fucking door that was available. This applies doubly when you consider that the amount of time you're using identifying each door is more or less the same as it would be if you just went around and used the screwdriver as well.
I understand Woolie's logic about doing things sequentially but there's no way you can ever justify giving less information rather than more when it comes to situations like these, especially when it's perfectly obvious that progression has stalled, as well.
