She looks absolutely ravishing. When she won the Operalia competition Placido Domingo said that he considered her to be the complete package of looks and vocal ability. It's good to see you enjoy her performance so much.
I can only guess that the conductor decided she shouldn't sing the high E flat. Or - she could have been feeling under the weather bit. I know what you mean about a few pitchy moments but I don't mind that!! And yes, she's beautiful !!
Indeed! Infact the then Music Director of Vienna Opera House, Dominic Meyer said he had already decided after the first round of Operalia to pinch her from Mariinsky. Like you, I don’t mind the ocassional imperfect pitch because her phrasing, tone and musically is so stunning to me. Her acting in the Operas themselves is another huge bonus. So compelling as she embodies all the characters she takes on! She’s performing La Traviata in Florence now under the baton of Zubin Mehta and even before she finishes her run, they have decided to put on an extra special performance next month!!
