what solved the thing for me is to take out the damper, it was completely covered by ice, even the deepest electronic parts inside were frozen. I removed the ice manually by a needle and then removed all the remained moisture by a towel. The formed ice blocked the damper's mechanical part from closing the cooling circuit, so it stayed open.

My fridge damper had a spring that closes the damper when the motor retracts. The spring broke. Neighbor had a spring that just happened to fit. ❤❤❤

Need your help. I have new wirlpool French door. 30 inch wide 22cubic feet. Veg are freezing. Vents are clear. I have reduced the freezer temp below the recommended mid range and also brought down the fridge temp to one level below from the recommended level.
    Is this ok?
    Ice cub maker shut off.

mine has an intermittent problem. It will work ok for weeks and then it will start freezing food.
after a while, it will start working properly again only to act up again in a few weeks

Hey Steve, my side by side Frigidaire model FRS26R4A is running too cold on the fridge side (mid 20's) and not cold enough in the freezer (12-15 degrees). I can feel/hear the air flow, if it helps, the drinks on the top shelf are freezing but the food on lower shelves are not affected. I did a rudimentary cleaning of coils in the back, no seals are cracked on the doors.. This is a "garage" second fridge so no water lines are hooked up, no ice. Can you suggest where I might start? Temp control, air damper etc. Thanks much

NOT cool ( Pun intended) Absolutely no mention of the little dampers being BLOCKED in the refrigerator section so the cold air STAYS instead of circulating and that way ONLY cold air is continually coming in..... THAT'S a SIMPLE fix without becoming a technician and spending a couple hundred dollars on parts that may not even be the problem...

This dude basically listed all the parts that may have gone defective but doesn't explain how we're supposed to figure out which part. So buy all the parts which probably costs more than the fridge itself and go from there. Nah. I'll just buy a new fridge altogether.

Good luck getting the one you want with the COVID supply chain problems.

He demonstrated how to use a multimeter to determine if some parts are defective and which parts, but if you don't own or know how to use a multimeter then yeah that does you no good.
It's in the latter half of the video if you didn't watch that far. Basically you have to test each part with the miltimeter to make sure it has the correct ohm reading (electrical resistance) at room temp, and then you can use process of elimination as you test each part until you either find the part that is faulty or narrow down what the only remaining culprits could be.
