Does anyone know why Volkswagen didn't give the DSG gearbox to this engine? Any particular reason?

I think the DSG was too new in 2005 to equip to family cars and was saved for their sportier models.

It's not the motor , problem is with the gearbox, it's a torque converter and it's very slow ,it's not the Dsg

I had this model passat from 2006 with the 2.0tdi PD 140hp engine. Never had any issues. Drove it from 160.000km to 350.000km.
