  • Hi guys, in this video, I'll be installing a ‪@badnewsracing‬ Flex Fuel Kit. I revised this video to shorten the run time. This for entertainment and educational purpose. I do this as a hobby.

With the kit installed, are you getting any CEL (P0178) on startup?

It will throw a code if you start it up. But you shouldn't start it up. Just put the key in and turn it to the on position. Wait a few minutes, then start it up. If it throws a code. Clear the codes. Unplug the battery and repeat. Check the Autocal under E85 to see if the sensor is reading a percentage. If it's 0%, you didn't install it correctly. If you see 9.8% or anything other than 0%, it's working. Don't forget to check for leaks on the RaceTronix connector. Let me know.

@@DirtyCruze. Well it shouldn’t throw a code at all. Apparently some will though (per email BNR sent me). My 2018 will throw the P0178 (sensor not getting full 12v) on every start up using the fuse tap in the F44 (backup camera) location. BNR had me test with the sensor wired directly to the positive terminal and no more code. Tested back in the F44 and the code came back.I ended up moving the fuse tap to fuse location F23 (windshield washer) as it’s still a key power on and not serious should it blow. Haven’t had a code since. I asked to see if you were having the same issue, so I could pass on my findings, as I know BNR stays busy and it can be awhile before an email comes back.

@ptaylor09 Thx. Bro. I'm glad you passed me that information about the windshield wiper fuse. My car threw more than 1 code. I freaked out at first, but i, it's fine now. Did you add E85 yet? How's it?

@@DirtyCruze. np. These cars love e85. Chevy dropped the ball not having it from factory. Pulls are nice, smooth, and consistent (even at higher speeds). I was having some weird KR issues on 91 and switching to e85 has cleared all of that up. MPG has dropped to high teens/low 20s, but I’ve been pushing it hard to make sure the weird KR issues is fully gone. I’m sure you can get higher MPGs if your light on the throttle. It definitely complements the BNR tune, which woke the car up a lot over stock.

@ptaylor09 Nice. I'm having the same issue with knock on 93. I was hoping E85 would clear that up. Bro, you just made my day. I'm just waiting on the update tune. I agree with you. There's a few things that they fumbled on with this car, not many, but luckily, we can correct them because this car is special, with the upgrades dude. Thanks for your feedback, bro. I really appreciate it, man.
