What retiles does everyone have? We currently have a Lepard Gecko, 2 Corn Snakes and a Bearded Dragon. We actually haven't identified genders om any of them but we consider them all boys. I am nearly convinced that the Beardie is indeed a male with a big head.
I'm pretty sure those are some of the more "rare" morphs, especially patternless, so I would not be surprised if they kept a baby or two from this clutch
I forgot to mention, you should definitely pair Shakira to Enzo next year! Shakira seems to produce some beautiful red hues on her babies, her and Enzo would make some stellar reds!

Last year she was paired to Mr. Steal Your Girl, which was when they found out she was het patternless, but what stood out to me was one of the normal babies they looked at (before gushing over the patternless babies of course) had a very red side/belly. They did mention that the babies kind of grow out of those reds, but they also said that the baby was more red than usual. So I’m wondering if pairing her to Enzo would encourage that red color even more. Sorry for the long response, lol.
Axanthic just means she has two copies of a gene that stops her from showing the reds. She can still have the high red color genes but you can’t see them

hi Emily! I have a question: could Shakira be a redline morph? If Shakira is redline, she would possess a set of genes that lead her to produce more red pigment in her scales. However, the axanthic gene overwrites the redline gene phenotypically and Shakira doesn’t show her hyper-red-pigmentation even though she can still pass on the gene. Very curious! My big orange/red boy is getting more redish/Orange and his belly is still that crazy Orange. It was such an interesting clutch! Who knows where all that red came from in these babies. I'm very sad I missed out on one of those patternless.

I'm wondering if Orange Creamsicle might be het for the other sort of axanthic! meaning the two aren't compatible for axanthic. Also, maybe there's some kind of color-intensifying gene, as the babies either seemed fairly normal or very saturated. Perhaps associated with redline?
I bought two of these babies and am thinking the same. Maybe he is the other axanthic strain. Once available, I will have them fully genetic tested for morphs. They will also be bred once they are old enough!

I love how the head stamps look on the whitesides, especially the 2 on the left side of the bin around 14:15. The one on top kinda looks like it has a Mickey Mouse head surrounded by white, and the bottom one looks like a heart surrounded by the white. And the color variation all around is incredible! What a cool clutch of baby bullsnakes!!
It’s like opening a lucky dip each time. Shakira is one special snake. I loved all the babies but my favourites were the one with the deep red belly and the golden patternless. But really they were all beautiful and I can’t wait to see them after their first shed.

I was just rewatching Moonstone’s babies hatching and saw this 😂 I clicked so fast. I got my very first ball python this week 🥹 He’s a juvenile banana ball python, and he’s so mesmerizing to watch just exploring his tank.

I love snake discovery, they are are so amazing and the reason my parents are fed up with me asking them nonstop for any reptile,or amphibian (but mostly a ball python) and begging them to go to the NARBC’s and last but certainly not least, trying to convince them to let me go to the snake discovery zoo. So far it’s mission failed but I’m not giving up yet. Thank you for so much Emily, Ed and all of the great people that work to do everything you do for us, your videos have gotten me through some hard times and I really appreciate you and all the hard work you’ve done.😊
We had an activity in my Latin class that involved sending in pictures of our pets and I found out that one of my classmates has a hognose. I recognized the pattern from watching your videos and asked if it was a hognose :D
the golden baby is soo cool, i wonder what morph genes could be influencing the sheen. if it retains the golden look to maturity you might want to breed it with a patternless anxanthic or albino to see if you get silver babies
I think Shakira may also be het hypo. That would explain why you have one dark white side and one lighter one. It could also explain the range of shades from gold to bronze in the patternless. Those red bellies are just amazing. I don't know bull snake morphs as well as some of the others but that could be its own thing or be an combo expression of an incomplete dom gene. I love the gold and the bronze but I am fascinated by those red bellied ones

I think one of those babies MIGHT be patternless-whiteside. When you looked up your reference image for that combo, I saw that it had, like, a faded striping going down it's body. And I saw a very similar faded striping going down the body of one of those babies, one of the ones that looked kinda greenish.
wait, aren't there two types of axanthic morphs in bullsnakes? could shakira be one type and orange creamcicle be the other type? maybe that's why you were told he's het axanthic, bc the two types aren't compatible with each other if im not mistaken...
Orange creamcicle could be the different axhantic strain though. I really love the secrets shakira holds. The babies are absolutely stunning either way. And those reds on those babies are really amazing. That might be a reasoning why some of the babies are so highly orange too.
Man, they're pretty... We have them wild out here in AZ, and they're one of my favorite snakes to see while hiking. So BIG! I have to say that my favorite was that beautiful copper-colored patternless.

I really liked the look of the super dark gold pattern less with the 2 fairly prominent patches coming off its head. These babies, babies will be amazing in the future assuming people play the genetics lottery.
In the video where Shakira's had patternless babies she was paired with mr.syg who was thought to be hypo albino het ws and het axanthic. So she can't be het albino because there where no albino babies, but also mr.syg might not be het ws because there were no ws babies in either clutch. Also orange cs could still be het axanthic if he has a different axanthic strand than shakira like with mr.syg last year.

I have the huge red/Orange one with the crazy Woma python belly that was shown a bunch and he is just getting more and more gorgeous! The reds and Oranges are just getting better! Not losing it at all! And he's going to be huge! Also got one of the white sided.
man, those whitesides are going to grow up and be GORGEOUS snakes. i volunteer at a reptile rescue called BeWild and they have a whitesided black rat snake like those little guys named Ace and he is an absolutely stunning snake. he's a bit sassy, but he just likes to eat

I have always had a fascination with snakes, even in elementary school, and to this day, i was never really afraid of them for the most part. I loved the golden baby.

Shakira is Axanthic though so she shouldn't be able to pass any red influence. I think the red influence is from Orange Creamsicle and not Shakira.

We had an activity in my Latin class that involved sending in pictures of our pets and I found out that one of my classmates has a hognose. I recognized the pattern from watching your videos and asked if it was a hognose :D

the golden baby is soo cool, i wonder what morph genes could be influencing the sheen. if it retains the golden look to maturity you might want to breed it with a patternless anxanthic or albino to see if you get silver babies

I think Shakira may also be het hypo. That would explain why you have one dark white side and one lighter one. It could also explain the range of shades from gold to bronze in the patternless. Those red bellies are just amazing. I don't know bull snake morphs as well as some of the others but that could be its own thing or be an combo expression of an incomplete dom gene. I love the gold and the bronze but I am fascinated by those red bellied ones

I think one of those babies MIGHT be patternless-whiteside. When you looked up your reference image for that combo, I saw that it had, like, a faded striping going down it's body. And I saw a very similar faded striping going down the body of one of those babies, one of the ones that looked kinda greenish.

wait, aren't there two types of axanthic morphs in bullsnakes? could shakira be one type and orange creamcicle be the other type? maybe that's why you were told he's het axanthic, bc the two types aren't compatible with each other if im not mistaken...

I really love the secrets shakira holds. The babies are absolutely stunning either way. And those reds on those babies are really amazing. That might be a reasoning why some of the babies are so highly orange too.

Man, they're pretty... We have them wild out here in AZ, and they're one of my favorite snakes to see while hiking. So BIG! I have to say that my favorite was that beautiful copper-colored patternless.

I really liked the look of the super dark gold pattern less with the 2 fairly prominent patches coming off its head. These babies, babies will be amazing in the future assuming people play the genetics lottery.

In the video where Shakira's had patternless babies she was paired with mr.syg who was thought to be hypo albino het ws and het axanthic. So she can't be het albino because there where no albino babies, but also mr.syg might not be het ws because there were no ws babies in either clutch. Also orange cs could still be het axanthic if he has a different axanthic strand than shakira like with mr.syg last year.

I have the huge red/Orange one with the crazy Woma python belly that was shown a bunch and he is just getting more and more gorgeous! The reds and Oranges are just getting better! Not losing it at all! And he's going to be huge! Also got one of the white sided.
man, those whitesides are going to grow up and be GORGEOUS snakes. i volunteer at a reptile rescue called BeWild and they have a whitesided black rat snake like those little guys named Ace and he is an absolutely stunning snake. he's a bit sassy, but he just likes to eat

I have always had a fascination with snakes, even in elementary school, and to this day, i was never really afraid of them for the most part. I loved the golden baby.
