The HORRIFIC Execution Of The King Killer RIPPED APART BY HORSES!

  • Throughout the 17th Century in France, there was many executions during the French Revolution. However before this there was a brutal execution carried out in Paris, as a man who attempted to kill the French King Louis XV was pulled apart by horses. Robert-Francois Damiens was a man who was disturbed throughout his life and he blamed Louis XV for many of his problems. However whilst the King was climbing into his carriage, Damiens lunged at him with a knife and almost assassinated him.
    Following this he was arrested and was tortured, before he was condemned to die and he was to be drawn and quartered by horses. This was brutal. He was brought to his place of execution, and was tortured before his limbs were attached to horses and they were then driven off in different directions. Witnessed were disgusted by what they saw, but some even sickeningly applauded as the man was quite literally ripped to pieces.

      Well, one very big cause of all the horrific tortures inflicted on the accused or convicted, was that the Holy Scriptures were not available to the general public. And in those Scriptures there is no intimation of inflicting any of that kind of torture or suffering on any other human being at all. In fact, in the New Testament those kind of punishments of course, were totally unthinkable, and forbidden. And in the Old Testament it was just stoning and getting it over with very quickly. No, they had no measure or yardstick to go by, but once the Scriptures started getting into general circulation, little by little that stuff stopped. It took a long time, and it took a long wrong time, but in the Western world that kind of stuff mostly ceased to exist. Except, of course, by the Socialist governments and peoples, be it the German National Socialists or International Communist Socialists, but then again it's from the non- Judaic/Christian sectors and philosophies.

    You mentioned the name of Charles-Henri Sanson, as the executioner of Damiens. Actually, Charles-Henri only became official executioner in Paris much later. Damiens’ execution took place in 1757, but Sanson’s “heyday” was in the Revolution which started in 1789.
    It was probably Charles-Henri’s uncle, Gabriel Sanson, who officiated at the execution of Damiens. He was assisted by his servant, André Legris, who carried out the worst tortures of poor Damiens.

    The French Revolution was 1789, not the 17th century. Note also that despite the horrific torture, he was burnt and his ashes scattered. For a Catholic then, this was tantamount to a sentence to eternity in hell, as the body was not buried whole, let alone in consecrated ground, and could not therefore rise again at the Last Judgment.

Otherwise order might break down completely in what were, after all, extremely under-administered and almost totally un-policed societies compared with today.

      It was Yahweh who told Moses to have the man who broke the Sabbath day rest by gathering sticks to take him outside the camp and the people to stone him to death. • @jimhere01
      @jimhere01 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@redmi9834 That's right, there were death sentences for many offenses in the Old Testament. But there was nothing like the horrible tortures described in the video. Stoning to death was usually very quick. And I suppose it was meant to be a community effort. As far as the incident where the man was killed in the Old Testament for gathering firewood on the Sabbath, even Moses wasn't quite sure what to do and he went and asked God and God had the death penalty apply to that man. But somebody pointed out that God and Moses had just got through enunciating the Ten Commandments and the various laws and ordinances, or something very much to that effect. But the man went right out and transgressed right after he was told not to do and what the penalties were. God was trying to make a separate and holy people and sometimes it took draconian measures to do so.

      @@redmi9834That's true. In fact, I think the scripture continues something to the effect, a burn for a burn, a cut for a cut, a bruise... etc. Meaning, exact retribution. No more, no less. If you were the victim of a criminal attack and the attacker/s were caught they were to receive the exact physical injuries inflicted upon the innocent victim. The Judaic laws and ordnances were probably the most perfect civil law in history ,and in the world. For most offenses in the Old Testament there was no physical punishment, just recompense to the victim of stolen goods etc. And if there was physical punishment to be meted out but the eye for an eye precept didn't apply, the punishment was usually the death. But there was no beheading, or boiling, or burning, or drawn and quartered etc, it was by stoning to death. Usually over and done with very quickly..
