In this WCC there truly are no bad outcomes for the winner. If Gukesh wins, he's the youngest champion ever and that's great. If Ding wins, it's another cinderella story for him since basically every top GM thought he would lose in convincing fashion. At this point I think I'm rooting for Ding mainly because he is not as "booked up" as Gukesh; obviously at the top level all Super GMs have a ton of memorization, but its clear that Ding is going off-book WAY earlier than Gukesh which I think is more interesting.

@rossieemz3435 sure grandpa, lets get you back to bed and take your pills
As a beginner, Taking less trade is actually more profitable than more. The more trades you take, the more your chances of losing increases.
Your chances of losing trades are a lot higher provided you're not trading through the mentorship of an expert. Single handedly handling trades without proper mentorship is the major reason why most investors lose money
it is easy to want to trade a lot but in the end taking less trades is more advantageous because you can easily cut your losses short
Aside taking less trades, already there are way too many unavoidable mistakes in the market that does leads to loss of trades.
well said, I'm about paddling into trading, currently studying out the market. What trading advice would be best for a beginner with no trading experience?
I'm not an advisor but I can share what worked for me when I first got into trading. I started by working with trading expert "Amalia Bunker" so I was getting good returns. I'll suggest you work with an expert to cement your chances of making profits when trading.

All the people commenting on the game: He values position more than material, good knight, bad rook
ding: I just missed Na7(in the press conference)
ChessDojo was speculating he had overlooked the move, and I thought that was simply impossible. That move would be an 800 puzzle, at most. But if he saw another winning line, which he did, there was no reason to do anything else.
@@djconnel honestly, I was shocked too because I spotted it with half the elo. I saw Anish, Leko, Vishy, Hikaru talk about this and they all attribute it to not being materialistic and improving position. missing it is surprising.
@@djconnel I think this also shows how powerful the intuition is of the Super GMs. It takes a 2800 to not even consider taking the rook for a knight.
Ding humbling
If you think he could play 99.4% accuracy and missed that, you are 400 elo. The man didn’t miss it. After his win in game 1, he said he missed all the losing moves too but by sheer luck he played the right move. He is just trolling
Either Ding has lucked his way into being WCC or he is a majorly underrated mad man who has philosophy somewhere along the lines of "only do what is neccasary". This game was not just a victory. It was a statement. Watching those final 30 minutes was incredible.
No man who reaches the zenith of any sport is there by luck.
Ding is no different. The only thing luck did for him was allow him to challenge Nepo.
Time and time again, people attributed things to luck that should be attributed to someone.
Gukesh isn't there by luck. Ding isn't there by luck.
This game is simply a proof to those who said Ding got lucky
@@Phantom_Zone To be fair, the luck that led him to challenge Nepo was pretty insane.
Didn't originally qualify for the candidates, lucked his way in anyways after someone got DQ'd.
Didn't manage to win the candidates, but Magnus finally made it official that he would not defend his title so he played te championship match as the Candidates runner-up.
The match was a disaster, but he managed to edge out Nepo in tiebreaks despite neither player showing their peak strength.
The Ding we got as world champion was weaker than the Ding we saw few years before, so it is understandable why people disregard all the other factors and say he's "only there because of luck", even if it's wrong.
@@mymsoup
Yeah, but for the fact, it is wrong... He defeated Nepo fair and square. Simple...
@@mymsoup The other salty top players lost to Ding in the Candidates. Ding also beat Nepo in a match. You can say he fell behind 3 times, but he also had to win games to take Nepo to tiebreaks. I think the narratives surrounding him are only so negative because Magnus's decision loomed over the community.
@@damiester1Honestly I agree. If Magnus was out of the equation, people wouldn’t be so hasty to call Ding lucky for winning against Nepo. It was not by luck that Ding won. He fought the battles and lost some games, but he won the war against Nepo, showing he was the better of the two. We could just as easily argue that Nepo had some lucky moments as well. At the end of the day, it’s who’s more consistent, and if they’re consistently lucky, that just means they are good.
Ding is afraid of defeats, which is why he always opts for draws. It is an unfortunate mindset for a great strategist and calculator. He has shown time and time again that he is capable of winning, but he is afraid of failure.
This is why I made a comment couple months back that Magnus mindset and resilience played a lot of factor as to why he’s different from the rest because players like Fabi and Ding is close to his strength
Typical pressured Asian...
I agree, I think his self confidence has dropped. The difference between him and me though is that when his self confidence drops, he almost never loses and still plays 2700 level chess, and when mine drops, I go into my room and do nothing.
You might be right. Fear of failure. I never thought about it 😮
He's just asian 🙂
This was in some sense one of the most pleasent game I've seen. Just simply improving move by move, no crazy blunders or mistakes. Just pure dominance. Advantage growing move by move, and Gukesh didn't even make any real major mistakes, it was all just an amazing game by Ding.

Amazing. The fact that the current world chess champion is underrated (both in points and in terms of perception) makes this whole thing a story regardless of the outcome.
Usually when you accept the fact that you are likely to lose, you can play freely and you lose the fear of failure. That's when you can perform at your best. I think this is a perfect example of that.
This game was one of Ding's cleanest, it's almost as if Gukesh's prep gave him the exact kind of positional game in which he shines. I admire Ding's ability to have a clear path to victory and carry it out, that's his best quality for me, his long term strategy is downright humbling

That was Anatoly Karpov today. Ding played such a Karpovian game.
Yes..a positional masterpiece..
Was looking for this comment, it was such a slow roast
I'd say it's more like... Kramnik, the man, the one, the only
A absolute positional game, paralyzing the opponent until a fatal blow to lead to victory. Karpov let the opponent lose and then attacked, and, as far as I know of Kramnik, he made the opponent lose by attacking after the positional play
@@mpbeastohugbear83 it was like an Anaconda squeezing the victim slowly but surely and no way of escaping
I'd say it's more Magnus-style. Karpov usually sucks the life out of his opponents like a python - and yes, in a way, Ding did the same - but Magnus plays the moves that require the least effort yet maximizes the advantage of the position, which slowly leads to victory. And that's exactly what happened today.
I knew Ding will comeback. I comment on few channels yesterday. He did that in candidates, also in last championship and again today. He loves to be down and then comeback as a savage :D. I think at one point in candidates also no one believed he can win it :D.
The more people doubt him the more he will come back!

I’m convinced Ding’s greatest strength is being backed into a corner where he has no choice but to take off the gloves and fight back. The best chess commentator is definitely Levi Rozman. I didn't see the mach and wasn't aware of result. You make this recap like an exciting Hollywood movie. I really do appreciate Levy. Amazing
“I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.” Isoroku Yamamoto
People were calling this world championship really boring and one sided and now what its really close.
Never thought I would hear the infamous THE ROOOOK! in this championship Hahahahha
Just wanted to say I really appreciate your channel. Heard of from my son with this championship going on, and you're doing a great service for students of chess, or anyone looking for a fun vid. I am getting back into chess a little (i was never very good), but i do remember watching Fischer vs Spassky on pbs back in the 70's. That was a hoot then, and you're doing yhe same today. Thanks
The great thing about these recaps is, that there is always something to learn. The positional play here is a dream. I often find myself pushing the pawns too hard in order to control space and then overstretch my position. But "being patient" is always sage advise. :)
Ding played like an engine in this game!
I feel bad for Gukesh. He didn't even play particularly poorly 92% accuracy overall and 96% for most of the game, just got completely outplayed and crushed.
Karpov/Magnus style from Ding!
Ding went 100%

Thank you Levy for making these recaps. As a fellow chess fan who does not want to wake up at 4 AM. I love having a fun video to watch where I can get the result of the game. Congratulations on Chessly 2.0, and thank you for everything you do for the chess community.
Go Ding!! I think he knows he can win and goes for it when he wants. That’s why he kills off so many games. Waiting for perfect moment then totally crushing.
1:33 isn't there some error 🧐
What a game by Diiing ding di ding ... Absolute beast of a game. Couldn't have asked for a better ending with 2 more super exciting games to look forward to. Now Gukesh not only has to pull up his socks but also show did he really deserves to be here and fight back. I am really hoping for 2 super exciting games to look forward to.
I did not expect Ding to strike back this fast. Let’s go Ding!
This has turned out to be an incredibly close match with the slimmest of margins. These 2 players are surgical in their prep, delivery, and most of all their psychological prowess! Recaps have been on point too. Extremely satisfying watching the live stream and then the recap. Well Done and a great way to close out the 2024 chess year!
Ding was saying, "welcome to my spider web" this game!

how do you block the title
@@carapan_ah Title is vague enough
does this even work
@@carapan_ahI mean the title makes it sound like Gukesh won
Boooo
Levy, disregard those hateful comments. I watch both You and Hikaru's recaps and i get much more out of yours, because You explain things so well. You are a great chess educator. Never stop.
Hikaru shows more positional and tactical ideas, but Gotham explains it better to 99% of the audience
@@vinesthemonkey You´re completly right. Im within that 99 percent. And im not saying I don´t enjoy Hikaru´s recaps, he´s just too quick for me sometimes and doesn´t break things down as much as Levy. I feel after watching Levy I understand what happened in the game more. Super GMs are just at another level.
Levy's recaps are truly top tier. Turns the game into a story.
Levy’s voice is also more pleasant to listen to
Man Levy and Anish are the best commentators! Such unbiased recaps :)
Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.
hahahaha Hikaru
You killed it with this recap! Well done, such a joy to watch
Ah Levy, no one comes close to you. Your analysis of the game and all else that happened before and around it, opens our eyes to a dimension that otherwise would never reveal itself to us. A big THANK YOU for helping us enjoy chess, and all its drama! even more, you are a master.
I am literally crying right now, if you are a Gukesh fan you would know that how heart wrenching today's game was
Yeah, gukesh got crushed bad. I can understand because as a Ding fan I am feeling the opposite. Complete elation. Easily the best game of the match so far and one of dings best games in years.
@@ex0duzzlol😂 aint you too happy? Already? Gukesh is young.
But i am sure he will be bigger thing than whatever the person is.
Don't be too happy 😊.
@@neetaspirant.8222maybe have a bit of respect for people and yourself
18:57 that first one is just perfect !
18:30 Not too many people talk about that insane d5, he also played it against Nepo in that london game, it wasn't the best move but proved to be fatal.
I truly hope Ding doesn't go to sleep anymore, more of this please

20:36 So sad that he has to give this long and clear explanation... ☹️
Man, I would say cheer for Ding and I am also doing the same because such a play deserves cheering...
Proved : Ding is a just chill guy 📍
Following you from the COVID19 Lockdown when you started out. This is the best I've seen in your videos .... The Roooook !!!!
I love ❤️ Chess
I'm rooting for Gukesh. I'm from the same city, 5km away from Gukesh's house.
But today, I gotta be fair. Ding played an absolutely beautiful, stunning, constricting, masterpiece. Credit where its due.
Thanks for respecting Ding unlike other Gukesh fans 👍
1:33 The Leaderboard☠️☠️☠️🤣🤣🤣
Levi is crazy tho
Tour de France is 90% just people biking on the road, and on the best days you get 10% of action, sometime you just literally get 3 minutes of action at the end of a long days with everyone biking together across a beautiful landscape.
So far, Gukesh has managed to win out of Ding's blunders. Ding has been extremely unprepared, and it seems like he is struggling with even wanting to play Chess. Even last year, Ding said he has mixed feelings about winning because if he lost the title, he could quit chess. He always lands in time trouble and bad positions, and when he does get a good position he is happy with a draw.
Yet, the moment Ding is in trouble, he plays at a world champion level. He didn't win off a blunder, he won by squeezing Gukesh into total submission. This felt like watching Magnus Carlson take on an IM, after a few moves Gukesh had no opportunities the entire game. Brutal playing style.
So well said. Its hard to believe this is the same player from earlier this match
lol so when ding makes a move and the eval bar slightly shifts in gukesh' favour, ding makes a blunder, but when gukesh makes a move and the eval bar shifts massively in ding's favour it's just ding playing well and not gukesh blundering? why are we infantilizing ding so much and diminishing gukesh?
you're falling into this narrative that isn't backed up by facts at all, I'm not sure why levy frames these in this manner
@@pulse3554 brother, go to half the games and see if Ding blundered or not. Ding has drawn wins and blundered draws.
In this game, Ding didn't win off a blunder. Gukesh played solid, but he was slowly taken out. It's the sort of game you'd expect at a top level.
@ I’m literally looking at evaluation shifts, and it supports my statement. The fact is, that there’s narrative bias
@@pulse3554 Of course they both make mistakes, and Gukesh has also made blunders. But you need to pay attention to the critical moments in the games. Case in point:
- Ding's last victory was this methodical win where he completely dominated the game.
- Gukesh wins the match out of nowhere when Ding blunders a drawn position.
I am not making my conclusion based on a narrative, I am giving my thoughts which seem to align with a narrative you've heard.
Levy, your boxing analogies, absolutely amazing! I don't even know boxing yet the way you explain the moves, I love it!
Levy you're so good at your job, your narrative makes the game much more interesting and it's a pleasure to watch your videos. I just wanted to compliments, you deserve what you achieved 👏🏻
