You're gorgeous. Greetings from England and from an old Ballroom competitor. It's down to all sorts of things on the dance floor, where in the music are you, who you're about to collide with, etc. I'd rather take the first step (on slow) with no body rotation at all, so as to maximise drive. Body rotation to right shoulder lead can start at the end of this "slow".
