    1.) I’ve taken years of lessons. 2.) I’m back to basics working on technique. 3.) I am experienced enough to utilize videos with less chance of developing bad habits. 4.) Learning from dance videos takes concentration and patience. 5.) This video made me a subscriber. Thank you! 6.) Your toughest online competitor is Egils Smagris in Latvia.

      Hi Dwain . I certainly hadcthexsamexexperience as you. Most beginners start with group lessons, where they justearn steps. It's very easy to learn steps. And with newcomers joining constantly, any progression is very slow. Teaching good technique requires considerably greater background knowledge and is harder. These videos are absolutely brilliant

    Comment on change of direction, maybe this is a suggestion for a future explanatory video. Let S = Slow. The count for change of direction is S-S-S, which means I’m ending the three steps of change of direction in the middle of a bar of music. (Let’s say a bar is 4 beats, though I know a musician might be thinking that’s a half bar). S-S-S translates to 12-34-56. Q: Do I hold for two beats to get back on the bar, enabling me to initiate the next sequence on 1 ? ( I can usually feel it when I’m off the bar, and it’s almost excruciatingly confusing, so then I will silently count to try to adjust, but of course I’m fumbling and likely confusing my follow.)

    • @philipsamways562
      @philipsamways562 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Dwain. I'm a very experienced dancer. And I dance change of direction as shown here. You're right, you end with your feet together, weight on right foot, probably facing DC, and you're in the middle of the bar, so simply move forward on a slow with yiur left foot as a preparation step for a feather step starting right foot forward on beat 1 as normal
