U.S. Air Force Lt Col. Jose Sarduy, 96th Flying Training Squadron (FTS) instructor pilot, talks with us about what the Air Force Reserves are and how he works for them part-time while still pursuing his career as a professional comedian. It was a shame the USAF leadership didn’t have AF Reserve program for ATC Instructor Pilots in the late 1980’s when the AF was bleeding pilots to the airlines. So much experience lost. The Air Force Manpower Personnel Center at Randolph AFB attitude towards pilot assignments was a “take-it-or-leave-it , you have seven days from today to make your decision.”
Very short sighted.
