Same logic as to how the 11th Doctor doesn't remember the events of the 50th Anniversary from whe he was the War/10th Doctors. They explain this in The Doctor Falls, when two versions of the same Time Lord meet, it puts their timelines out of sync, so to compensate, the younger version cannot retain any memories of the meeting

@@888bangthoryWell he was looking at Missy through a camera for years (minutes relatively speaking) so they were always connected. He might have lost every memory of her on the ship.
It's established in doctor who that when someone meets themselves from another point in the timeline, the younger version forgets, so Simms' master wouldn't remember this
The original was 100% the best Master disguise ever! Never saw it coming at ALL. brilliantly played by J.S. (Didn't see this one coming either, incidentally!😆)

I'd stopped watching by this point, but tuned in to see the Mondasian Cybermen. I didn't guess it was John Simm because I was too distracted by the Babylon 5 Zathras and Zathras impression he was doing.
