    THIS is what made football special, exciting, violent and perfect.
    The game nowadays is a mockery of what the sport is supposed to be. They suit up in badass armor, pads, sharp lookin helmets, black visors, etc. Yet they can't even hit each other. It's so silly if you really pay attention to what they are wearing and what they look like....then see what hits are "illegal" and " too rough" for today's game. 😂

    This Ravens v Titans rivalry doesn't get the press that Colts/Patriots, Bears/Packers, Cowboys/Eagles gets. But its a brutal, physical, and mean rivalry. Most those AFC north teams are physically demanding teams, and the Titans have always been a physical team. Their regular season games, let alone playoff games are usually last minute, brutal affairs.

The athletes were HARDER men in the 90s and early 2000s. The game was played more physically. EG literally couldn't play his game today without getting fined out of his game checks every week for lowering various parts if his body as a RB in today's game. Those defenses like BAL that were trying to stop EG couldn't hit him those ways in today's game either. And since men are bigger and faster now, maybe the rule changes are for the best (?) I always perceived it as Ray always got the better of him and that's the way he felt. IMO Ray did get him more times than not especially when you include that playoff game. It was cool to hear Ray give him his props ! George was a beast and getting smoked by Ray Lewis doesn't knock him too far down IMO, I mean name a RB or any player that owned Ray?? Joining the cowboys hurt his legacy more than Ray smashing him!

      Ray had a better d-line than Eddie had o-line so it wasn't very fair from the start TBH. It was a lot closer than you think, Ray was better all-time but George did get 10% of his career yards from the Ravens alone, above his average per game vs the Ravens so he ate plenty.

    • @daltiejul
      @daltiejul 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Jrock420blam George was a beast no doubt! I think he is highly underrated! It's hard to judge players who play different positions obviously, but IMO Lewis was far enough a better player for me to make that statement. Ray Lewis was just a better Football Player undoubtedly. Ray Lewis talks like he’s the only one to ever play middle linebacker. His talk is HOF caliber !
    He was effective because of the 4-3 defense the ravens ran. When you’ve got Tony Siragousa and Sam Addams ( both 330-350lb’s) keeping guards & centers off you anyone with speed can thrive .
    His play fell off once the Ravens shifted to a 3-4 and for the rest of his career he was not as dominate .
    Also don’t forget the shooting death and how smoothly Ray dodged that ! I think in his legal troubles he played way smarter .

Rarely do i finish a game anymore bc it feels like a watered down throwing fest anymore. 1000yds rushing was slowing becoming not enough to deem a back as good.
