Rockwell had this planned out, he says “behold your demise approaches” as you leave the simulation. Since you beat him you got unplugged he knew where you are, so he headed right to you.

THERE WAS A HUGE EASTER EGG IN THE END CREDITS, It said: “Helena Walker and Mei Yin Li will return”. it was at the bottom of the End Credits, so now we know that these 2 characters will come back in Part 2

HEY HEY HEY.... I noticed that too! I didn’t leave a comment because I wanted to see if anybody found out. And YEYYYYYYY! Helena will be back, I love her. I took my mutated Raptor And bred it to get a raptor like hers.
That means we are heading towards Arat Prime, that was mentioned in the holograms located in the sanctuary on extinction. In the discovery explorer notes, it said that Helenas Friends went to this place and teleported her into the Genesis simulation, where she created the holographic companion, and after that she exited the simulation.

So.. There was one of the explorer notes I remember reading.. It was a Rockwell one, explaining how after his mutation, he felt connected to the ark. He essentially became broken Aberrations new ark "guardian". In a sense he went from ark survivor, to mutated creature, to guardian (gaining the ability to access electronic data and systems). Remember him laughing at the end scene of extinction? I think real/digi Helena probably hoped he had died for good (since the process of him becoming guardian must have been between her time and our play), so when she brought the arks home, he wasn't a worry. Or she hoped the arks system had cleared the corruption with our final win on extinction.
So my thinking is that Rockwell survived, and was accessing Genesis to hopefully take over from Helena (by now he's probably figured she's a digital version and still "alive", and he's super nuts about it). The tentacle is his physical form. This is amazingly cool and a well thought out plot!

Ark story is way too good
The ending is really interesting. It seems to imply that this is happened around the same time Extinction ended, and the colony ship was probably on it's way back to Earth after the Titans were defeated only to be intercepted by Rockwell.
The Genesis simulation takes place immediately after Extinction. Your character does a practice run in the simulation after being beamed onboard the ship by Helena, only to find out that Rockwell survived and infiltrated the system.
The fact Helena swore when u got grabbed by Rockwell’s tentacle was hilarious for me

Are you talking about ascending? Search for ascension codes. This gets you the extra levels and implants

My guess is that after we defeated the king titan in extinction and the abberation ark crashed somehow rockwell was uploaded to the simulation and regained his sentience {and lets take some time to realize how much bigger he is in genesis rather than abberation}

You meet Helena at the end of exctinction for the first time. This is also where you get the first hint of Rockwell surviving. Then she gives you HLN-A and sends you to the genesis simulation where at the end, you beat Rockwell again. So unless there's a nonsense time travel shenanigan going on here, it's not a prequel. Also I couldn't find anything about devs mentioning it either.
