      Same. One by one she has had the people she loves taken from her: her mother, Riley, Giles, and now Dawn. She blames herself for poor Tara's insanity. And finally Glory got Dawn because she called Ben and let him in.

    Such an intense episode.Spike smirking while wearing his goggles makes me giggle every time. And go back to season 1, Buffy, Willow and Xander were just as whiny. I just think people see Dawn in a harsher light because she's the only kid among adults so it sticks out more. But really, she's acting pretty on point for what she's going through.

    I kind of love this one because it is so crazy and hectic. And the way Dawn tells Buffy how much she has done for her is so amazing, how much she appreciates her sister, I just love that part. Even if Buffy is breaking down, having her sister love on her like that, has to help her know what she is doing is worth it. And I love Anya hitting that guy with a frying pan. It's such a cartoony thing, but it was effective. Seeing Giles hurt like that always kills me, no matter how many times I see it. When he is talking to Buffy and telling her how proud he is of her, it is such a great scene between them. It is heartbreaking. Amber Benson is hitting out of the park with Tara being mentally disturbed. And poor Willow, trying to do everything and not fall apart. Just such good writing and acting all around.

    Poor Orlando. He joined the Knights of Byzantium and has spent his whole life trying to find the Key and kill the Beast. Glory takes him prisoner, tortures and then brainsucks him. He finds the Key - when Dawn wanders into the hospital psych ward in "Blood Ties" - but he's insane and restrained to his bed and can do absolutely nothing about it. Then his fellow Knights break him out of the hospital, and he babbles to Gregor that he's seen the Key. Still insane, the Knights take him with them in their battle against Buffy. When Glory shows up, his friend stabs him to death, to spare him a worse death at Glory's hands. RIP

    The Season is now reaching boiling point. In Spiral, Glory now knows Dawn is The Key. Spike turning up in the RV is funny with the slit in the front window. The scenes with The Knights chasing the RV and the ensuing fight is great. The mistake of getting Ben to come to treat Giles with of course the Scoobies not aware he is also Glory. The General explains to Buffy why it is all happening, and that there is no way to stop Glory unless The Key is destroyed. When Glory takes Dawn we can see Buffy becoming catatonic with stress. The build up to the finale is superb, and it does not disappoint.

    Hello, Jules.💜
    I just want to toss out that I knew what was going on with the caravan, as I have just, 2 days ago, watched the vampire classic - Near Dark. I thought of the thumbnail and then it was "Aha"🤣
    I remain amazed the getaway vehicle had enough energy to actually tip over. It cannot really qualify as a getaway if it cannot outrun a horse. They were doomed from the start, but a dramatic attempt nonetheless.
    This episode could well be subtitled - Everything Which Could Be Wrong is Done, and Done Again, and Done Some More.🤭
    I did really like your Giles remark - "It's just a flesh wound!"😂
    Another excellent Outro - with a clear cut examination of the issues, and possible resolutions. Now we just have to wait and see how it all plays out. Great reaction!🥰
    Have a superb Saturday, Jules.💜🤗💜 Continue to "brake" when you can, and have a relaxingly great time.

      HEHE! It's just a flesh wound... I wonder how many will understand that reference, or I might get in trouble for overlooking the seriousness of poor Giles' injury! Which is, by the way, VERY BAD, and if anything were to happen to our Giles I don't know what I'd do.
      I've wondered a few times with this episode, is there something they could have done differently or better?! I am no expert in these situations, but it just seemed like a bad plan. I remember someone saying that a plane would be out of the question because of Spike so maybe a personal caravan IS the best choice to house them all but.... Geez, Spike! Couldn't he have stolen something with more gusto 🤣
      I wanted to update you on a little addition to my household! This last week I have been looking into homemade yoghurt as I saw something in my supermarket called Easiyo. Yesterday I decided to bite the bullet and grab it plus a few flavour sachets. I've now made my first batch of honey Greek yoghurt and it actually turned out nice! It's in the fridge now so I'll have a proper taste when it's cool but I'm pretty pleased!
      Thank you, dear Tom 😸💜 I hope you have a lovely weekend! I have plans to finish playing a little game called Strange Horticulture (I was going to record it but decided to play it off camera and make a review/overview video of it instead if I feel like it... still testing out new ideas!) and it's burgers for dinner tonight 😜 I might try a little walk today too as I'm feeling much better 💜

    And I see where you're coming from with escaping on public transport, but the knights would still catch up to them, therefore endangering civilian lives and IF they raced to an airport, nearest, furthest, soonest flight, doesn't really matter. They'd still have to buy the tickets, go through customs, all that other crap I'm forgetting and then have to wait for the plane (which could still end up being delayed or canceled). I actually never noticed that bit of dialog where Ben is offered with a way out of his own predicament, saving himself and mankind at the expense of Dawn. I don't know if General Gregor understood who Ben is -- I suspect he did not -- but it makes Ben's dilemma, and his behavior, that much more understandable.

    Again the ducklings refused to watch, they are still on strike.against Buffy.
    The alpacas had a few questions, like how did those King Author guys know Willow was a witch, they didn't have a scale or a duck? Why didn't Spike say tis but a scratch? Did they watch vampire movies to fix up the RV.
    Anyways have a beautiful day.

    Hah, yep, the temptation to write a sternly worded letter to the year 2001 when Giles' life is threatened has occurred to more than one fan over the years :).
    Good one this IMO, albeit maybe a bit of a "moving the pieces" episode (and with some slightly questionable morality - remember when killing people was, like, the line Slayers didn't cross ? Cuz Buffy just fully merc-ed several knights :). Brave move too though, to have the hero seemingly give up because it all became too much for them (but very human and therefore very BtVS).

    I've never been a fan of the Buffy laughing moments. In part because laughing like that without anything being actually humorous, for the actor, is hard on said actor. It sounds like an actor faking laughter not like a fictional character finding something amusing. Sarah Michelle Gellar has even agreed with this. Also, in part because, in-universe, it always turns out Buffy has to stop laughing because what she's laughing at isn't actually funny (or she is misconstruing the context of). Examples: Buffy assuming Glory just wants to go home only to hear the truth AKA exposition fans waited all season for, and earlier in the season when she finds it funny that Harmony could kill her before realizing Dawn invited her in because Xander unintentionally encouraged Dawn to make the invite by foolishly opening the door (as Dawn's babysitter) and made fun of Harmony himself and therefore encouraged Dawn's unintentional invitation.
    The ending of this episode is so wonderfully dramatic. Same with the beginning for that matter, as it left off right where the last episode ended.

    • @Zorak9595
      @Zorak9595 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I strongly agree. It's very apparent in the scene you are talking about with the cut to Buffy laughing about Harmony and her gang. It comes off as incredibly fake. In my mind I had always just attributed it to being a poor writing choice (which it still is), but never realized it's fakeness was so strongly due to an actors inability to pull it off convincingly until you pointed it out.

    • @Buffy8Fan
      @Buffy8Fan 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Zorak9595 Very few actors can pull off that kind of laughter. That's why it's usually a chuckle or light laughing at best. Full on belly rumblings like the two moments I mentioned are rare in all pop culture for a reason.

    For a Watcher, Giles has been quite active thus far. Both Buffy & Faith's first Watchers died, all the others are wankers of a sort or dead. Except for Kendra's... whom we haven't met.
    In the outro, Jules is lamenting that we can't lose both Giles & Joyce in the same season. 😅 decisions have to be made and choices lived with - eventually.
