    So: don't step, don't whiff, don't be minus but also don't jab, don't approach but be in his face, his "mix ups" look identical to each other, he can spam safe strings to get his heat back, he's effectively got an infinite if you're stuck against the wall and can't step, and his most spammable low has an inconsistent punish window. Got it, thanks. What the hell were they thinking?

    I like that unlike other anti guides, you first and foremost cover the general idea of how to play against the character and what to be most scared of. 3 minutes in i can tell it will be more then worth going through your videos. Thanks

    When sound advice against Lee is "dont go minus 10". I'm not even poking fun, because it's true.
    Lee has always been a problem for me and he seems very strong with T8's system. This is a great guide.

    the M4 combo you did is basically the combo you would do. he doesn't get good damage from it. probably not optimal, but I would ideally go for CH 4,4:4 > b3,3, f,n > b+2, f,n > f4:1 > b1:1+2. that's 53 damage.
    hitman 2 is actually his high crush option from hitman i don't think its a true crush but it will evade a lot of stuff.
    lees punishment and CHs and like evasion stuff is quite nice. though he needs to commit to evading one thing.
    homing bb4 is slow and hitman 3 comes from a stance. and then 1+2 is great it is a bit slow but its super good still. ch launch as well. remember that lees fastest move from hitman is his jab at i12 so he is actually neutral after 1+2 > hitman. Remember that bb4 is a launcher on normal hit if you dont go to hitman if you do bb4,3 you only get hitman uf4.
    remember though the 1+2 no hitman leaves him in crouch so he can access ws3,3 or even slide from there. as well as ws1, and ws2
    you wont see df3,2,3 too often though its fully natural on CH now.
    FC df+4 make sure to get up by spamming tech roll. if you don't. fc df4,3 > hms uf+4 > b3,3 combos
    b1:1,2 again remember the high, and the stance transitions he has
    so as a lee player yes he has options to clip sidesteps, but the most common moves don't track like at all.
    b4 was hard "nerfed" in t8. i mean i don't know if it was touched but the side step buff made it kinda easy to step. when in t7 in happened only like once or twice. during all the time i played lee. and you can still spam b4 in standing. you just cant do a backdash in between since then you'll get the bb4.
    4,3,4 is ss and launch the last hit. and 4,3,3 block and punish. if you block 4,3,4 you get nothing. but the risk reward is kinda shit here for lee since your opponent doesn't need to do anything and they are quaranteed at worst to not take damage. but if you guess wrong and do 4,3,4 when they ss it you die. but if you do 4,3,3 you get like nothing as lee.
    uf+3,4, and the input is actually uf+3,1 you don't need the 2. just don't mash and at worst you get nothing at best you get a launch. as long as you dont mash he wont launch you for this. (the mid 1 doesn't launch on normal hit.) so duck expecting the high for a combo and punish the mid. Though uf+3,4 is a normal hit launcher. so just hitting the 4 gives a combo and the follow up is quaranteed if uf +3 hits
    f,f+4 is a true high crush for part of the animation. so it will evade electrics and any other highs you can think of. you see how lee has crouch state for a few frames during the animation. but again the combo is tricky. optimal combo i have found does like 70 damage (ff4 > b3,3 > b+2,4,3 > b4:1 > b1:1+2) im leaving the mist step inputs out
    so mist step is a high crush not mist step 3,4 specifically
    1,2,4,3 so hitman 1,2,4 the -14 im pretty sure most characters have something its just good to be aware of that. same for standing 3 (great move actually) and df+4
    ch 1+2 you can actually launch without going into hitman. i THINK you can do it with d3 as well but with d3 its super hard with ch 1+2 its really not.
    remember that acid rain is on block launch. On top of the last hit being a high.
    3 is fantastic. i14 mid with a hit confirmable high follow up and a hitman transition. and it is truly hit confirmable.
    f2,1 is no longer optimal i14 punish. i mean even before you wanted to acid rain if you could but now you only want to do f+2,1 if you need a mid and even then df4,4 might be better at i13 since you get heat. b1:1,2 is what you want to go for if possible if i remember correctly. ofcource the drawback is that you need the just frame.
    and f+3,3,3,3,3 is jailing so you can just mash a launch. though you will get clipped by the 4. so the question is will they or wont they do the high.
    something i need to start doing is b2,4,3. so its not great to finish it, but the first 2 hits jail so if you block b2,4 will also get blocked. and its a safe into hitman. if it hits i get wallsplat at the wall or i have fun in hitman (pushback kinda negates the hitman pressure) but challenging it is kinda scary since the 3 is a CH launcher.
    ff+2 is also +5 if you go into miststep
    i did say this earlier, but bb4 is also a normal hit launcher.
    db+3 im 90% sure it was only +1 in t7. the reason the +1 was enough was because m4 was i11 and you have 2,2,3.
    db+3+4 doesn't have a high crush. only evasion, but it does tend to go under jabs in some situations.
    if lee slides point blank its -15. if you are expecting slide and are unsure low parry.
    Infinite kicks its always always either mid high or low high. there is no variation where the second kick is a mid. so its ws3,3 (mid mid) into a guess low or mid. and then 4th hit is a high. but ofcource on the 5th hit after the high lee can swap to the other so if he wants he can go for example: mid mid, low, high, low, high.... OR Mid, mid, low, high, mid, high... so if you guess right you always duck the 4th hit and just launch him for free
    experiment with your character also. ws2,3 into heatburst is very inconsistent and it just whiffs on some characters. so if you know that lows are a lot less risky.
    sorry that text is so far from making sense, but i just wrote down my thoughts while watching.

      I main Law and is slowly labbing Lee because he is cooler and I see lots of hate against Law. and I believe Lee will fit my style more because Im more of a turtle style naturally. Thanks for your comment. I got some Lee refresher course on a random video.

    8:00 the way I loop b3 is by taping forward before b3 it counts as only on back. ex. b,b f b3 b,b f b3 .....

    how is someone supposed to remember all this let alone react and punish? Jesus Christ. And then you realize there are over 30 characters... no wonder everyone in my yellow ranks mashes 24/7. none of them know how to defend and they are terrified to let off the gas.

      I'm at Fujin and even I can't remember most of this stuff. But I'd say up until about purple ranks, the most important thing to learn about is YOUR OWN character: what's safe and unsafe. Learn to land your hits and not whiff and get launched. After that, just start learning about 3 or 4 commonly spammed moves from each character. You'll start noticing patterns. And it still just takes time.

      @@shape757Lee is a terrible matchup for devil jin. You shouldn’t basically duck at all unless you have a read against him. If you do have a read against his lows you should punish him hard or use u4 against those lows so that he thinks twice about spamming lows.
