Chet was the guiding light for so many guitarist ; almost every interview with great guitarist they say " i use to listen to Chet for inspiration " . Earl has always been very respected a brillant player in his own style so good !
This is purely majestic! Chet Atkins and Earl Klugh made these guitars sing in perfect harmony. Watching their fingers pick these notes was divine to me. Thank You for posting this.
God bless you Chet wherever you are !!! All the ripping death metal shred ‘masters’ don’t have anything on you and Earl - so much soul , so easy to listen to , so relaxing on the ears - thanks for sharing this
Among even great guitarists there are very few equals to Chet Atkins. Glen Campbell, Earl Scruggs and Roy Clark are three. Fame doesn't mean great player. Like Slash for example. Chet is to guitar what Mozart was to classical music. Slash is to Rock what Kanye is to smart, wise or decency. Nothing. Rappers are to Chet Atkins what Biden is to Elon. Nothing. 😅
Earl got a Chet record as a kid and was 'hooked'... He said it kept him out of trouble.... Thank God... what a wonderful player he is. It's cool to see them together like this.
This gorgeous music charmed my brother enough to make him learn dozens of Mr. Atkins' tunes by ear. Took him months to carefully sort out each of the various lines and partial chords the fingers had to find for each tune, but there is so much joy in just coming to understand the genius of the man... my brother eventually picked up enough ideas that he worked out his own arrangements of "Stars and Stripes forever," "Columbia, the Gem of the Ocean," and "Battle hymn of the Republic." My favorite was his version of Antonio Lauro's "Valse Venezolano." God Bless you Chet Atkins! I know you are smiling down and entertaining the troops still...
These back-up players always kill me . Pure in the pocket perfection - seemingly without effort . ( sometimes you can tell how very good they are because nobody " hears " them )
Earl and Chet were friends with Nashville luthier Paul McGill, he had designed and built a small number of amazing resonators that I believe they both owned, I can’t say for sure but my guess is is that’s one of Paul’s builds. He no longer makes them, too much work and fickle to maintain. Having played one myself they were simply outstanding! Paul still builds but now also has the finest pickup system called GoAcoustic.
Enjoy it all s great deal. I'm a good listener. Appreciate your talents and soul lifter. Oh how I wish I had the talent to play nearly as well on my acoustic Martin D-35. Many great music from your great instruments and talent. My hearty applause.
I remember when this song was popular. I was working around Suwannee Georgia. I remember sitting in the waffle house listening to this song playing on the jukebox.
Hello! This is my channel where I listen to music and watch films, I invite you to this place: www.youtube.com/@utro_s_baptistom_sammersom/videos
My goodness. Incredible - Earl Klugh is transcendent, and Chet reminds us how he can tear it up when he wants to.

The very first album I bought when I got my first decent stereo in 1979 was Earl Klugh. I love his music to this day
God bless you Chet wherever you are !!! All the ripping death metal shred ‘masters’ don’t have anything on you and Earl - so much soul , so easy to listen to , so relaxing on the ears - thanks for sharing this
The Masters can do it at low volume.

You would be surprised at how many of those guys respect him as well. Careful with those Stones you could put your eye out.
@@PlanetEarth3141Well said. Thats a wrap

I saw Earl and George Benson during their "collaboration tour" at the Fox Theater in Detroit years ago. Earl was born in Detroit in 1953.@@TimNelson
@@235buz that had to be a particularly awesome show. How lucky you are.
Try to imagine sitting alongside Chet Atkins and matching his brilliance. Amazing.
I wish there were tracks of Chet Atkins and his brother-in-law Jethro Burns playing together. Both great jazz musicians.
Chet Atkins iz much more, a guitar genius, of other musical traits.
One to watch out for on TH-cam iz he with Mark Knofflor
I think everyone who ever tried to play the guitar wanted to play like Chet Atkins at one time or another. Pure joy.
Chet Atkins @ Earl Klugh. Classic!
A great song by the great Danny O’Keefe. An American treasure
Makes me want to cry , missing Chet and all the wonderful, inclusive things he stood for.
Earl Klugh. So many of his tunes and so many, so many.

The first time l have heard of Earl Klugh a fine player will listen to more of him.
Song played very well. My your talents bring you Gods blessing.
What a great (and unexpected!) pairing! Two true masters.... 😎✌️
Worth catching too are clips with Mark Knopfler and Chet.
Back when two guys just playing guitars could fill up an auditorium.
These back-up players always kill me . Pure in the pocket perfection - seemingly without effort .
( sometimes you can tell how very good they are because nobody " hears " them )
As good as it gets!! Thank you. Fantastic. 🇺🇸
Pure magic. Could listen to them all night,
One of my favorite team-ups of Chet's. Magical.
Danny O’Keefe wrote so many great songs. This sounds so clean and Beautiful.
I got to see Chet in St Petersburg at the bay front center.
Half the show acoustic and half electric. It was superb.
Thanks for posting this wonderful video! All of the players were awesome!
He was a blessed person.Very special one.Missed him.
I had not heard Earl for a long time, he’s still great
"Goodtime Charley's Got The Blues"......I recognized it from Chet's beautiful intro...... Beautiful Job.... Thanks Guys!!
Written and originally recorded by Danny O'Keefe
I adore them both, and don’t recall this pebble in the pond! It ripples.
Chet has recorded 2 albums with Les Paul, and Earl 1 with George Benson
That is the most unusual resonator guitar I have ever seen!
Definitely not a lap steel, or regular Dobro...

Goodtime Charlie's Got the Blues - written and originally recorded by Danny O'Keefe
That was very sweet!
Easily beautiful!
so beautiful
Chet is a freekin god
Incredibly beautiful. Anyone know the year?
I tried to find the title of the piece they were playing, but it wasn't listed in the notes. It sounds like a melody from one of the Judds duets.
Is that a flat pic or is that a thumb pic, certainly a rare sight Chet using a pic.
That was great! But Eric Johnson was up next!
Chet Atkins rules
ahh yes!!
Is that a "Del Vecchio" Chet is playing?
it is Good time Charley's got the blues
Geez, Jimmy Page would be a sleep 1/2 way thru this gig! Like watching paint dry! 😱
First time I am First to hit like button ❤
Earl Klugh's mission in life is to help you fall asleep.
Good time Charlies got the blues...
Good time Charley's got the blues?
yes!
Players be playin' eh?
Chet Atkins is one of the most accomplished boring guitarists I've ever heard.
That was so ......BORING
:)
I play the bass, and I could have done without the bassist in this performance. Overbearing.
wow
Two greats
