I wept, when I saw this archival record, I can see today, how my father performed his police duties as Corporal traffic officer,controlling a busy traffic, standing on top the old Matanikou bridge. Very Impressive Documentary . I just come to know how our leaders before fight for our independence and now we free from British Colonial and we stand and run by our own affair politically and economically. God Bless Solomon Island from Shore to Shore.
What are lessons learned history? The western side demanded statehood in 1978. Other provinces joined the similar called 22 years later in 2000. And it took from 2001 to 2015 to write the proposed statehood bill only to find it in the self again-gatheirng dusts. And...its great indeed to learn the southern Malaitan region has been active in the Solomon Islands politics before 1970s and to finish off with Sir Sr Kenilorea to bridge us to civilization and lead us into independence. Kenilorea warnings in the video has been very truthful since 1978, that misaligned interests between the CSO, government and the private sector will lead us to nowhere. In today's terms, it means despite the varying interests from these parties the uniting factor or the government should take the leading role. For the now with thousands of bug passing and excuses with limited impacts in our nation since 1978 have made us to realised that nothing have been implemented by using the foundations which we thoughtfully staged at independence Day.
By looking at the current state of our country. our forefather would be disgusted with us. After all those years we never gone anywhere but destroyed what they have build and hoped for. Come on new generation Solomon islanders, let's build our country and make the future generation proud in the next 45 years to come. If hem same yet after another 40 years, talem ota descendants blo umi give up go nmre.
