They have achieved something very special in the GoldenEar speakers! Just replaced my Magnepans, and these are MUCH better!

What surprised me is the equipment in engineering. There are some Pentium based 10+ old PC's, CRT screens, PATA HDD's, and my favorite - mouse that looks like ball mouse ;]

I saw the sound engineer use my Compaq computer monitor from 1996 🤪

Does GoldenEar sell replacement plate amps for the powered towers when they reach the end of their lifespan? I really enjoyed my Definitive Technology BP7004's before their amps stopped working and now I cannot find replacement amps. I never even considered what I would do when the amps reached their ends.

I listened to these and the top of the line flagship as well (Reference). I felt the integration between bass-mtm module was severly lacking. It was like listening to a 2.1 system. Instruments never sounded true to life.
Also, the midrange did not have the realistic presentation i expected from this price-point. Voices were thin and lacked body, for example the voice of a bariton was poorly presented. The presentation of the cello was, again totally off. And there are many more examples i could give.... The extremely cheap crossover components add to the low sound quality.

I HAVE THE TRITON TWO PLUS AND I DO NOT AGREE WITH WHAT YOU WRITE, I THINK THEY ARE THE MOST REALISTIC SPEAKERS I HAVE EVER LISTENED TO SPEAKERS AT DOUBLE THE COST

@@madcrabber1113 I think he got hearing damage from listening to music at very high volumes?
I do fear what @coscosmin4506 says may be true. I haven't heard those speakers myself yet. I used to have a pair of JBL S412PII floor standing speakers, 2 decades long actually.
No sophisticated sound, but quite enjoyable. The speakers in it were 1", 4", 6" and 12" but for me it still could just have had a bit more body.
The mids are very important to me, just like very deep bass. It doesn't need to destroy the walls with their impact, but it must have precense. These JBL needed a little bit more more depth, and more emphasis on the mids for me.
If possible I do want to give these Goldenears a try once I have money for it, but I think adding a pair of subs with my current speakers could be better, although I also am not entirely satisfied with the mids of this set. (Plus the soundstage is basically non-present, with a few very surprising exceptional moments.)
