  • Summer for our family of 12 is brimming with activity. From our regular household chores to hobbies that the kids are picking up to growing our own food on our homestead and our garden, we have plenty of work that needs to be done around here. This week we got some pigs and the kids had an unusual summer homeschool lesson.

Thank you for the much needed encouragement. Sometimes it's easy to forget that the blessings are in the privilege of having struggles to refine your character.

Yes! One time my mom told me something I never forgot. She said that you want your kids to have some things better than you did, but some of those hard things are what has shaped your character and made you a better person. It's so true.

My 18 month old son is in that phase right now… thanks for the reminder 😂 you’d think after 4 I’d have remembered this occurrence at this age lol

You're welcome! It's amazing how easily we forget the kids' stages after they are out of them!

You can do soft rope hobbles for those chickens. Ours fly high and wing clipping never seems to work.

Oh, good to know! I don't know what soft rope hobbles are, but I'll definitely look into that! Thanks for mentioning. :)

Have you always lived on a homestead? My family is praying for some land to live this lifestyle, praying for a miracle where we live in Hawaii.

No we haven't. We lived in a small house near the city for 12 years. We saved up and did without a lot of things. Four years ago, this place opened up and it was a wonderful answer to our prayers for a suitable place for our family.

Привет из России. Вы учите русский язык? Я очень люблю ваши ролики, смотрю постоянно и тут вдруг увидела в тетрадке свой родной язык❤

Hello and thanks for watching all the way from Russia! Yes, I have always loved learning the language. I don't have a lot of time to invest in it like I did when I was younger, but sometimes I do it with the kids and maybe one day I will have more time for it. :)
