There’s potential for a dlc that references the war of sand and snow where Setra invaded norseca over marauders looting a tomb. The premise could be a legendary lord stole a powerful relic(s) from their tomb king counterpart and they want it back. Do you think that could workout?
Why pay for DLC when there are mods such as SFO Grimhammer that expand the tomb kings roster to include these missing units, and expand the rosters of several other factions?
I'd buy a Tomb King DLC if it contained: -High lich priest -Bone giant/ sword and shield -Khemrian titan -Ushabti Great weapon -Armored mummies with AP
The cat miniature at 9:15 is from the 6th edition Neferata model. She had a pet cat that she could attach to enemy units that would apply debuffs to represent a black cat crossing your path and granting bad luck.
Honourable mentions i found on Lexicanum: Bone giant variants - additional hand weapon, great weapon or shield Dust goblins - it would be nice to have undead greenskins Lahmian dragon men - using dragon powder and dragon staves imported from Cathay, 2000 of these bad boys gunned down Nagash
I'm still salty they never gave us the Khemric Titan model. It was so cool looking and decent in game rules. I'd still buy one of they released it today!
Arkhan definitely needs love. He was instrumental during the End Times lore and with the anticipation for a Nagash LL Id love to see Arkhan given a bit of a boost to put him closer to a mix of VC and TK. I actually bought multiple kits of the AoS undead so I have Nagash, Arkhan and the female model (name eludes me rn). If they added Nagash without making his campaign tied to Arkhan somehow (Relationship bonus, maybe a mechanic similar to how Sylvannia works with Vlad and Isabella) itd be a massive oversight and shame.
I just want the ability to buy heroes and increase the unit cap with the mortuary cult. Also, I think the court of Lybaras either needs to start in a large settlement or have a special building that makes the minor settlement better.
Apophas would presumably be animated by having animated textures, such as ones that move their UV to simulate the movement of the texture, or even has a few animated frames to add noise and give a sense of crawlyness to it. Then you throw on a particle effect with some loose scarabs or handfuls of scarabs falling off him or running around him. If you wanna go more fancy, you could have the overlapping animated textures with alpha, or you could add a particle effect with balls or half-circles textured like smaller masses of scarabs, moving through the model, poking through form within, then sinking back in again, sort of pulsing, so that they sort of break up the geometry and give a sense of masses of scarabs shifting in and out. I think this is doable, and shouldn't be a huge deal performance-wise if it's only for one character, although I get they might just not have the experience for this particular kind of thing, or don't have a very good technical basis for it in their engine, so the amount of problems to work through and effort of implementation might just not be worth it for a minor character. It could also be the case they just don't think it would look good enough if done this way. I think it'd be neat enough that I'd rather have it than not have it, but there's the whole annoying optics of professionalism and standards that come with being a company making products and all that, so I get it may not be as simple as "better something than nothing".
My dude, Creative Assembly makes 100+ million a year and has like half a thousand employees. This is something a modder could do semi decently so there's literally no reason to think so deeply about if CA implement him.
The swarms and the titan are a given, the cats could be either dire wolf equivalent or some kind of small bodyguard creature that also protects against miscasts and generates magic winds. You keep it around the mage to supercharge it but it is very easy to snipe. In the lore the Tomb Kings had some units of mortal levys to defend living districts of servants among some of the ruins - the mummies could be those fresh servants risen into the armies which Tomb Kings have as all undead due to supply reasons. I think we could see Apophas as a legendary lord who finally took over some random city on the edges of the southlands (let's say Nagash helped him by allowing the curse to lessen) and now leads a war to retake Numas. Ubgrading Ramhotep to lord is fine and getting Amanhotep the Intolerant would be the best call scince Amanhotep would have access to some Vampire Coast units due to cooperation with Noctilius on top of good relatons. I think he would be better as a Tomb King lord because I just cannot see him commanding legions of pirate zombies instead of skeletons with sea-worn colour. I feel very much the same about Tordrek Hackhart if he ever is considered for chaos dwarfs. Tomb Kings need some form of confederation, maybe an event of raising wiped legendary lords when you take over their capital. Norscan Confederation would fit too but maybe with capitals (taking over their pyramids to force them to heel) and Settra confederation could be just bought with like 30k gold (Arkhan would go with normal agressive confederation). Arkhan will likely get his counts units replaced with Legions of Nagash units when they drop as a race. The other mechanic I kindda want is to be able to incorporate human factions after taking over their capitals - get a handful of levy troop choices: bretonnian cavalry, imperial gunners, kislevite hybrid shooters, cathayan constructs etc.
I need skeleton archers recruitable as core units rather than being building restricted , it's not a huge issue, I can just mod it, but it's a lore break for me to have khemri with limited archers at campaign start
For anyone who doesn't want to wait and hope for them to add this officially, these are indeed all done by a mod, one I'm very fond of since Tomb Kings are my favorite to play in TWWH. The mod Tomb Kings: Extended adapts all of these and more, and it's a lot of fun to play around with.
That is a great example of a mod that goes full mod. And what I mean by that is they provide something everyone wants but they add so much..bloat is probably the word that it reminds you it's not official.
@@toggle3927 yeah overhaul mods can often due too much. Some of the more professional stuff like in the Skyrim space is customizable to a degree so you could pick and choose say a hardcore mod improves combat but also adds survival elements like weather or perishable food a good mod would make it doable to just install the combat overall without the other stuff.
Nathan noooo, why did you have to plant the idea of a Tomb King Vampcoast hybrd LL into my mind. I need this now. My two favorite campaigns combined? Gimme
I think mummies could work wonders actually. A lot of tomb kings arent completely skeletal and some have retained a portion of their physique through embalming. As long as the color scheme is right, I think it would be a fit. Sort of like an expendable unit perhaps, like zombies? But the ones you showed from tabletop did look a bit more hardy.
Same. It's such a pitty that we still don't have proper naval battles after 3 full games, especially since a lot of factions have such a big focus on the sea. #makeBlackArksGreatAgain
I just want to have the master of the fleet doing the vengeful mummy thing & hunting down stolen treasures as a khemri faction , I don't want any vampirates units with him, aranessa's lore break was bad enough.
I'd also like to see the Tomb King Lord get adjusted from having a Sword and Shield to having a similar weapon to what those Ushabti (GW) have, just like how they're represented in official artwork.
There is one more unit that could come in for the tomb kings OR even vampire counts. The carrion riders. Pretty much flying Calvary. Originally they were a vampire counts army thing waaayyyyy back but I feel they would fit better tomb kings. Plus.. maybe we could see a carrion as a mount. Plus.. a minor thing.. reading the tomb kings book before playing a game with my kings I noticed a picture with a large skeletal elephant which could be a non construct khemrian warsphinx. I hope we get one more dlc with them.. it would be a massive missed opertunity.
It'd be cool if the herald hero let you equip extra banners on your army or at let them take a banner and let them grant its effect to nearby units. Most likely they would just get to pick a banner effect out of their talent tree. It really would be better to let them have an equipment slot for a banner like the dwarf runes though, you could put some banners in the jar shop so you wouldnt be fully dependent on rng.
As for Arkhan I feel he should have access to Necromancers instead of Liche priests and maybe weight kings instead of tomb heralds (assuming the latter are added)
I'm think Tomb Kings as a proper faction came out long after I stopped playing tabletop but the models look so awesome, I'd have definitely jumped on that. Good video.
Yeah the cat is the model that came with Neferata (it was then called bastet), she has many cats in Silver Pinnacle and the more ancient Lahmians can shapeshift , oldest - Naaima often chooses to beome a black cat for her mistress.
The cats were familiars, back when familiars had models. The one you showed was part of the old Neferata kit (4th?/5th ed.): Bastet, her "pet" (It was implied the cat was some kind of being that had plans for Neferata I think, this is very old lore so don't crucify me...). The cat is as old as her basically. Now a ghost or shade it protects Neferata from harm as well as granting her luck. There was a whole bunch of familiars back in the day, a toad, a little knight, a succubus, a pumpkin head, some ghost kinda thing, a walking book, a monkey paw, little dragons and mages etc. This dates back to the RPG times, so maybe I get this wrong, but the models were important in so far as casters could cast spells from the position of their familiar or switch places with them and so on.
I’d say that Arkhan should have either Tomb King constructs with Vampire Count infantry and cavalry, or Tomb King infantry and cavalry with Vampire Count monsters.
The Herald Nekaph was not of noble birth. Indeed, it was whispered that he was not even born of Nehekharan blood and that his parents were from the uncivilised tribes to the north of the Great Land. he can be Sigmars granfather
Don’t know if anyone said this but I did speak to a forge world sculptor and they did make a khemric Titan. He said that they didn’t finish it but put in a box. So they can always get that out to Design it for the game
Wait for the Nagash DLC, I think it will have a mix of new tomb king units and vampire count units. I'm betting it will also include Neferata, since they can't do a One lord DLC faction.
The Tomb Kings are probably my third favourite race after High Elves and Greenskins, but Settra is my all time favourite lord!!!!! I can't wait to get some more Tomb King content (we need the dune beetle AKA Khemric Titan), liche priest lords would help add so much variety to campaigns and be far more thematic for Khatep. Lastly Settra's herald as a LH would be the cherry on top. Khemri shall rule all!
Problem with Tomb Kings confederating other Tomb Kings would be that it would quite likely destroy their Army-cap mechanic unless CA thought of something new.
Just make their confederated armies disappear if the cap is reached, but available in the recruitment pool for when the time is right ffs. And place a huge upkeep for all overcapped units until you dismiss them. Yes, solving this is THAT easy. And extremely loreful.
They could just implement a "supply line"-esque mechanic for Tomb Kings which would only be important when you got more armies than your cap would allow hence after you confederate. E.g. no replenishment plus heavy attrition for all armies as long as you stay above the cap which you normally could not do anyways so it would not hurt you otherwise
I think you could easily have a dlc with senhesmet who is a lich priest who put his soul in a bone gaint as a legendary lord, with high lich priests as a generic lord, maybe tomb herald, bone giant with sword and shield or great weapon(or both :D) , ushabti great weapon, mummies and armoures mummies the khemric titan will be the big set piece monster
It would be great if they jumped Arkhan to Nagash's faction when it comes along. Unlikely, but great. I wouldn't be picky about a new LL to replace him, but Apophas seems the most unique of candidates, and they've demonstrated with Deathmaster and Oxy that assassin armies are viable.
Hello! Kinda off topic but....is there any mod that turns the Tomb Kings or atleast a specific faction into humans? It would be cool to restore Nehekhara as it once used to be
I know that i'm 5 days late but why not Alcadizaar? Only one guy who kills nearly full power Nagash, so dangerous that he was killed night after defeating his foe. Repanse was resurrected why not he? And who knows where his body lies? He could be even at Chaos lands and fight behind enemy lines
wasnt there a very popular Tomb King who put himself in a full Golden Armor and rule over dead and living Humans? I dont remember his Name. Why didnt you mentiont him, as a missing Lord?
tomb kings need living human infantry and a living version of scorpions that can be beasts or for cavalry, also they could add some stuff that resembles Ra and the other gods, they could expand on their gods. also why put dark elves in the trailer and not have an expedition or something near tomb kings?
I think the tomp Kings should get a dlc in game 3 would love to see what, idk what you would pin them against? Mabye tzeentch could be trying to mess with Ramhotep plans idk I'm just spit balling, In a dlc i would like to see - Ramhotep the Visionary as the LL - high lich preist - tomp heralds - ushabti with great weapons - khemric titan as our set peace - bastethi - bone ballista And apophas would be a great flc and I really want to see him Sehenesmet would make a great legondary hero for ramotept but I imagine the khemric titan would cost a lot to make
>Ramhotep >LL Hell no. Sehenesmet is a High Lich Priest who also is a Necrotect. Why should the chad Vizier of Quatar be playing second fiddle to the Virgin Identity Thief? Sehenesmet is LL material. Ramhotep is only LH material. I mean you want a Necrotect who can use a chariot as a LL over a dude that is a Necrotect, High Lich Priest and is inside a Bone Giant? YEAH NO.
there are 2 more obvious options for them one vs set up for them is vs Neferata , in theory they could do the scarab assassin getting upgraded to LL status + have scarab swarms & the giant scarab contruct as an updated horde scarab themed tomb king faction attacking lahmia & some other designated targets or something the other one is putting the master of the fleet(which grudges says they're putting in the vampire coast video) in norsca or on the coast north of norsca & having him vs a norscan LL who stole stuff from Khemri as an expedition force, possibly pushing out of norsca & into the chaos wastes & realms to chase down lost treasures the norscans traded to other chaos factions
@@Marcusjnmc Im not lore expert, but I really like those ideas I think the tomp Kings vs neferata would be a great lord pack, I'm a sucker for good themeing in lord packs, One issue is that CA kind of painted themselves into a corner with the whole lord packs need to involve one of the base game races, but it would be great to see them break with that trend
Tomb Kings are the only faction to be directly buffed by more unit variants, due to the recruitment system. Getting capacity for one more type of unit through an already existing building is huge. Consider the Ushabti with Greatweapons. If they got added onto the same building the other Ushabti already have it would mean a strict buff. Either we get capacity for greatweapons on the same levels we also get capacity for the bow variant OR we get another tier on top, which would also almost guarantee a capacity increase for the lower tier variants. Not to mention if they got added as a LOWER tier variant. Or CA adds another building which would almost negate any kind of buff the Tomb Kings would receive, dear god i hope not.
I don't think it was a "nasty habit" to make rules without units. It was the good moves of yesterday. Make them yourself! That's part of the hobby. I'd much prefer FULL army books on the tabletop game than the cut down barely anything ones that ignore tons of characters because they're concerned the business side won't be able to market and support so many units. SO many units get forgotten because they can't "retain market viability" in a shop, rather than just giving full faction rules and making what models they can, while leaving them as legitimate things for hobbiests to make if they want them.
The scarab lord...lord's animations could be complicated, but were someone to mod it, while low quality, I think attaching the spinny skeleton mass of the Screaming Skull catapult to it and just covering it in scarabs could be a neat workaround to it
It always astounds me that people say Tomb Kings have aged well. We don't even get to see their setpiece units until what, turn 130? We have building bloat right now which is crazy because almost every unit from the Cavalry building is nigh unusable, Chariots fall off since the mass changes and Carrion were created as a meme. The Mortuary Cult is exactly like the Mortis Engine, in that is it literally the worst crafting mechanic like a Mortis Engine is the worst Mortis Engine in the game because it was created first. The best part is they nerfed it without patch notes I think during Twisted and Twilight dlc, or I assume it was during T&T because that entire dlc was trash for the game. I don't know their Ports made it into the game it takes 2000 turns at least to break even and that's if you have a trade partner! They're a cool faction but not a well built one. You can really tell their age.
Yeah I tend to agree. I like a lot of the mechanics on paper but I feel that you are just kept weak for way too long. Would love to see them get a rework in the future.
I really like a tomb kings extended mod but the tomb kings with cannons and dinosaurs really take me out of the fantasy , or maybe it's just me. Really cool mod tho I really recommend it
I would love Tutenaken as a LL, having a Chariot Archer Lord would be cool as is, but him in his golden body would be even better, also a hybrid faction as he rules the last city with still living Khemrians, so you could have faster and stronger horse archers that are immue to fear because they already live with the dead.
swarms can't be balanced for all factions, that's why CA didn't make them. a swarm for TK is totally senseless. the 2handed ushabti are not necessary either. you have other constructs. the TK are in a very bad spot compared to other races. they are low tier now, so they need massive upgrades.....and yet again another nagash discussion?
it doesn't matter that ushabti with great weapons aren't required in a functional capacity, they're iconic & should be available anyway , & ushabti don't function as constructs, they function as monstrous infantry
Likely CA didn't tackle swarms of very small things because they might be a design challenge. They could make them 120 units with small models that have a couple of layered moving textures on each. Or they might try to present the swarm as techincally a single entity, letting a unique flat sort of model sell the swarm. Which might be more difficult but have a better effect overall. I imagine they would behave like wolfhounds, but maybe negligable attack in exchange for a small consistent damaging aura.
New video! Sorry if it came out late I'm at physio today :)
You forgot to mention the dust Goblins. Undead Goblins controlled by lich priests
Hey don’t forget that Kislev and grand Cathay have missing units and legendary lord, lords and heroes!!

Great video keep it up dude. :)))

took me a few seconds to notice the little guy in his chest(?) bone(?).
Which Liche Priest to choose now, anyway? Which Lore? Which Traits?
Would love Mummies could be slow but super tanky to blend in with Infantry
Thanks for the video
The TK legendary lords are all mummies so mummies can still fit the roaster.
I would love to see prince apophis and the scarab constructs. If they released side by side that would make a whole lot of since.
Maybe a sand and snow dlc?
Yettis etc for ogres and some of these guys? I'd buy that....
Im calling Nagash DLC, start at Nagashizzar
I live vampire counts but I can't win with tomb kings I can never get the ramp up
The mummies could be a type of zombie for the Tomb Kings.
Or an alternative to Tomb Guard. Lesser nobles, not Tomb Princes, but high enough to get the mummification and immortality treatment.
I never got the chance to play vs Tomb Kings back when tabletop still existed. What one rule hamstrung the Tomb Kings?
I think you could easily have a dlc with senhesmet who is a lich priest who put his soul in a bone gaint as a legendary lord, with high lich priests as a generic lord, maybe tomb herald, bone giant with sword and shield or great weapon(or both :D) , ushabti great weapon, mummies and armoures mummies the khemric titan will be the big set piece monster
Best dlc ever? Vampire coast wants a word with you^^. They are both equally great.
After Skaven are very funny to play in TWW2... I reccomend Arkhan campaign very challenging and fun
Tomb king cats would be cool. Give Tomb king spell intensity from giant cats/like wolf pack. Yes plz.
Also scarab lord that focuses on stealth yes.
No mention of melee bone giant unit (that isn't a hero) :(
They need more Anubis-like characters and units.
Ramhotep is a "builder" huh? Yeah, I bet he "builds" real good with that whip.
More like he whips the workers to build faster I presume?
@@CBRN-115 That's what I'm implying. If by workers, you mean slaves.
Hello!
Kinda off topic but....is there any mod that turns the Tomb Kings or atleast a specific faction into humans? It would be cool to restore Nehekhara as it once used to be
Dude I play tombkings in 6th edition and never lost with them. 40blocks spears with setra in the and always strike 1st was nearly invisible
Are we going to get to play Nagash… that is the real question
I know that i'm 5 days late but why not Alcadizaar? Only one guy who kills nearly full power Nagash, so dangerous that he was killed night after defeating his foe. Repanse was resurrected why not he? And who knows where his body lies? He could be even at Chaos lands and fight behind enemy lines
What a bone giant with 2 hand weapons
wasnt there a very popular Tomb King who put himself in a full Golden Armor and rule over dead and living Humans? I dont remember his Name. Why didnt you mentiont him, as a missing Lord?
I remember the Mummies from I think 3rd Ed, I never used them as I didn't like their aesthetic. I really enjoyed the Dark Elves getting slaughtered.
What about Numas and their king and living troops.
tomb kings need living human infantry and a living version of scorpions that can be beasts or for cavalry, also they could add some stuff that resembles Ra and the other gods, they could expand on their gods. also why put dark elves in the trailer and not have an expedition or something near tomb kings?
I want Nagash! XD
Grudges- Tomb Kings are the best DLC is the Warhammer Series
Settra- I do not serve the Total War Community… I SHALL RULE IT!
I think the tomp Kings should get a dlc in game 3 would love to see what, idk what you would pin them against? Mabye tzeentch could be trying to mess with Ramhotep plans idk I'm just spit balling,
In a dlc i would like to see
- Ramhotep the Visionary as the LL
- high lich preist
- tomp heralds
- ushabti with great weapons
- khemric titan as our set peace
- bastethi
- bone ballista
And apophas would be a great flc and I really want to see him
Sehenesmet would make a great legondary hero for ramotept but I imagine the khemric titan would cost a lot to make
>Ramhotep
>LL
Hell no.
YEAH NO.
there are 2 more obvious options for them
one vs set up for them is vs Neferata , in theory they could do the scarab assassin getting upgraded to LL status + have scarab swarms & the giant scarab contruct as an updated horde scarab themed tomb king faction attacking lahmia & some other designated targets or something
the other one is putting the master of the fleet(which grudges says they're putting in the vampire coast video) in norsca or on the coast north of norsca & having him vs a norscan LL who stole stuff from Khemri as an expedition force, possibly pushing out of norsca & into the chaos wastes & realms to chase down lost treasures the norscans traded to other chaos factions
@@Marcusjnmc Im not lore expert, but I really like those ideas I think the tomp Kings vs neferata would be a great lord pack, I'm a sucker for good themeing in lord packs,
One issue is that CA kind of painted themselves into a corner with the whole lord packs need to involve one of the base game races, but it would be great to see them break with that trend
Just curious Nathan: have you quit your job and gone fulltime on TH-cam?
I want to play them in Warhammer 3
They could just dump them in with the regular ushabti so the capacity for melee ushabti would stay the same but you could pick between the two.
You should look at the Warhammer Armies Project Tomb Kings book for additional ideas.
That's not lorefull...
@@drafezard7315 not GW Lore no. but really in the same vein.
@@LandofMert76 Yeah, but literally the entire point of these videos is to talk about official stuff that's currently not in game.
what mod is prince apohis
Tomb Kings Extended, complete overhaul of all the tomb king factions, highly recommend
about time
Mummys had high toughness and 2 wounds per model back in the day so they were tanks. They were weak to fire though.
The best dlc for total war Warhammer franchise is the vampire coast
WHERE IS NAGASH !!!
I really like a tomb kings extended mod but the tomb kings with cannons and dinosaurs really take me out of the fantasy , or maybe it's just me. Really cool mod tho I really recommend it
Hi Nathan, when news? You are uncloak on discord as CA spy
I would love Tutenaken as a LL, having a Chariot Archer Lord would be cool as is, but him in his golden body would be even better, also a hybrid faction as he rules the last city with still living Khemrians, so you could have faster and stronger horse archers that are immue to fear because they already live with the dead.
Who is this guy? Found nothing on the wiki.
I read All kissing Tomb Kings. Was very disappointed and my day is ruined.
:D
It’s probably just me but the tomb kings fucking suck to play as. I love the lore and the look of the kings but man, it sucks ass to play as them
This calls for Mods.
P.s.: Which are the good ones with WH2?
swarms can't be balanced for all factions, that's why CA didn't make them. a swarm for TK is totally senseless. the 2handed ushabti are not necessary either. you have other constructs. the TK are in a very bad spot compared to other races. they are low tier now, so they need massive upgrades.....and yet again another nagash discussion?
it doesn't matter that ushabti with great weapons aren't required in a functional capacity, they're iconic & should be available anyway , & ushabti don't function as constructs, they function as monstrous infantry
First!
