Interesting. I have tried a few Kinnman pickups on my guitar and they only work well with a cranked Marshall. I think this video demonstrated that well.

I really like the sound of these pickups -- however - I just discovered that my reissue Stratocaster doesn't have deep enough pickups cavities..."** Install requirements: At 25mm tall the Big-Nine-0 is 3mm taller than our regular Strat pickups and will fit most modern guitars but might not fit vintage reissue guitars so check the cavity depth before ordering. The pickup cavity depth should be no less than 19mm (3/4 inch) deep..." I'm bummed - I'm going to 'route out' my pickup cavities
Had one of the BIG NINE-Os in the neck and a Kinman P90 hx in the bridge. That guitar was beast through a cranked '67 Super Reverb.
