  • I recorded this on my trip to Staten Island. From Northen Bronx to Manhattan Island. You pass Yankee Stadium and "off you go". It was such a nice day!
The word "Bronx" originated with Faroese-born (or Swedish-born) Jonas Bronck, who established the first settlement in the area as part of the New Netherland colony in 1639. European settlers displaced the native Lenape after 1643. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the Bronx received many immigrant and migrant groups as it was transformed into an urban community, first from European countries (particularly Ireland, Germany, Italy and Eastern Europe) and later from the Caribbean region (particularly Puerto Rico, Trinidad, Haiti, Guyana, Jamaica, Barbados, and the Dominican Republic), as well as African American migrants from the southern United States, Panama, Honduras, West Africans, and South Asians.

Fantastic tour my friend. I grew up traveling to the Bronx almost every weekend to visit an uncle. So nice to see it again. Manhattan is also a great place to visit. I enjoyed the tour as if I was in the car. 👏👏👍👍👍🌴🌴🌴😋 I love to see so many trees along the way. Thank you for sharing. 👍👍👍

Thank you very much. I was there for the first time in the 70th. It looked quite a bit different and it was really dangerous. Nice to see the good changes. Best wishes from Germany.

2:13 Crossing the main roadway that my late grandparents lived on (Mosholu Parkway), my late grandparents lived on East Mosholu Parkway North at 155-165 East Mosholu Parkway North on the 6th floor apartment 6F. Their names were Carmen Edith Leon Corrigan her maiden name was Leon and Kenneth Patrick Corrigan. My late grandma was born in Peurto Rico on May 15th 1940 and moved to The South Bronx at 581 Walton Avenue between East 149th Street and East 150th Street and between the Grand Concourse and Gerard Avenue in 1944 with her brother Sam Leon and her parents her father’s name was Pedro Leon born in January of 1910 and died on Friday December 30th 2005 so that house they moved into in 1944. In 1962 Carmen met Kenneth and got married to him almost 3 years later in 1965 at a large church on East 138th Street in Mott Haven. My late grandfather lived on Brook Avenue near 3rd Avenue and East 138th Street and near the Grand Concourse in Mott Haven from 1941-1965. They bought their first apartment at 2326 Loring Place in Morris Heights and had my ex father Kenneth Peter Corrigan on October 30th 1966 and my famous uncle Kevin Fitzgerald Corrigan on March 27th 1969. They moved to 155-165 East Mosholu Parkway North in apartment 6F in 1977 and lived there ever since they moved in. Unfortunately they both passed away 3 years apart but their kids are still living on earth today. I don’t speak with my father anymore since he’s a bad liar and an irresponsible person for my brother and myself including my mother, he married another woman and she became my stepmom. I recently seen Kevin in February of this year for his art show and then we headed to dinner, he lives with his famous wife Elizabeth Berrige Corrigan and his famous daughter Sadie Rose Corrigan in Queens but Sadie lives just a few blocks down 27th Street in Astoria Queens near my cousin Jennifer’s building since Sadie is 19 and lives on her own. Just so you know that I know that parkway very well and the history of my family living there and my life
