I’m loving this technique at the moment! Until recently my “emergency sketch kit” which I carry with me has been a tiny handmade sketchbook and one of those bic pens with 4 colours. But recently I’ve been converted to carrying a fountain pen and water brush. I’ve sketched while waiting for a bus, waiting to order food, sitting on my own in a park etc. I love it, but I’ve not really tried it in my bigger sketchbook yet….
Good deal. I do that all the time with regular ink. It's amazing what color some everyday black ink roller ball / fountain pens put out when wet. I have some Earl Grey (Diamine) in a general use fountain pen & that puppy puts out a sort of grey purple pink mix when wet. It looks excellent on background stone mountains. Excellent info!
Hi Doug, I've started watching your videos and you are on my "must see" list. What ink are you using? I looked at your material list and you mention a waterproof ink but not this one. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
🤩Thank you from MAINE in the United States, your advice is most helpful Doug. Have you ever thought of incorporating neo color 2s? Would you be willing do a video including the Caran Dache Neocolor 2's? 🤓 please?💜
You have really great drawing skills Doug, the ink and water technique looks really cool!Like how you have shown some simple doodles to the fab street scene, can’t wait to try this!I wondered if you have one of those Elegant writer pens?I have one but not tried it yet?Would love to see you demo one!I see you went with the baseball cap lol!Nice one! Thanks for sharing!❤
@@beverlymarch7916 Thanks Beverly that's very sweet but one of the cool perks about having a TH-cam channel is its easy for me to crib free stuff so you keep that one as a spare. ❤❤
I actually did this today of an enlarged bit of a on-stage picture of a hand playing the frets and headstock of a guitar!
Brilliant.. Keep going.😀👍

Will do,. Thanks for commenting. 👍
Quite apart from anything else, a big thumbs up for your critique of photo-realism.
Glad you agree. 👍

What nib do you use with your Lamy Safari? Love your style.
Many greetings from Germany.
