Tikona Fort - The Monsoon Adventure Trek | Maharashtra | Ankit Bhatia

Tikona also known as Vitandgad, is the dominant hill fort in Maval in western India. It is located near Kamshet around 60 km from Pune. The village nearest to the fort is called Tikona-Peth. The 3500 foot high hill is pyramidal in shape and the name Tikona means "triangular". I explored this trek during monsoon trek. But if you visit in winters then you can do night camping and watch star trail here. For full experience, watch this video.

Great vid Ankit! I went during winters which was not the best time to trek, if one wants to enjoy the beauty of greenery. The best time is during or soon after the monsoons. Everything looks dollar green! But it could mean slippery trails, thundershowers etc.
Winter wipes away most of the green carpet. The horizon gets foggy. But then the weather is at its absolute best. Neither too cold nor too hot. Just perfect.
Combine it with a village restaurant opposite the lake called the Red Soil. Good Maharashtrian food!
