Driving Chemonix to France Through Mount Blanc Tunnel

    The Mount Blanc Tunnel right under the French Alps is an engineering feat, reducing the distance between France and Turin, Italy by 50 Kms. The toll is about 51E but worth it. The drive to Milan takes 4 hours with a break, through Aosta, Ivrea on E 25, Joins A4 at La Mandria. Its beautiful Italian mountain countryside for a long time and through a valley till La Mandria and the land flattens out. The toll road is well maintained and you can do regulation 100 - 120 KMPH. There are many touristy spots on the way, possible to spend an entire week in between or more. Will be better alternative to the eastern route of Lake Como and the tourist crowd, this Eastern route is better, IMO.Take a look at the large number of attractions:
    Aosta: Roman Theatre: Well-preserved ruins showcasing the ancient Roman influence in the region.
    Arch of Augustus: A stunning historical landmark from 25 BC. Sant'Orso Complex: A beautiful medieval church and cloister with impressive frescoes.
    Saint-Vincent: Casino de la Vallée: One of Europe’s largest casinos for those interested in a unique stop. Terme di Saint-Vincent: A spa offering relaxing thermal baths.
    Fort Bard: A fortified complex offering exhibitions and panoramic views. It's a significant cultural stop with its interactive museum and art displays.
    Ivrea: UNESCO World Heritage Site: Recognized for its unique modern industrial architecture. Ivrea Castle: A 14th-century structure offering scenic views over the town.
    Lake Orta (Orta San Giulio): Isola San Giulio: A small island with a beautiful basilica and monastery.
    Orta San Giulio Town: Quaint streets perfect for a peaceful stroll and dining.
    Lake Maggiore, Stresa: A lakeside town known for its elegant villas and access to the Borromean Islands. Isola Bella and Isola Madre: Famous for their stunning gardens and historical palaces.
    Varese: Sacro Monte di Varese: A pilgrimage site and UNESCO-listed landmark with 14 chapels showcasing Renaissance art.
    Monza (near Milan): Monza Cathedral: Known for its stunning Gothic architecture and the Iron Crown of Lombardy. Monza Park and Royal Villa: A vast green space perfect for a relaxing visit before heading into the busy city of Milan.
