I just bought my Pit Boss and am looking at all kinds of TH-cam videos for education and recipes. I really like your channel and the way you talk in a clear voice and describe things. It is helping me already. I'm sorry to see that you stopped producing videos. I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the clear way that you explain everything in simple terms for the layperson to understand. I am looking forward to trying your recipes. I subscribed in case you decide to continue producing videos. Thank you for sharing your experiences!

Glad to see you drop another vid, even if it's a repair. Everything seems fairly easy to interchange.

Hi V! For the first time EVER, I found someone who has the nickname V. My sister's name was Velena and she passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2012. Everyone called her V though. She was so popular with everyone and she was so funny and nice! Anyway, V, it's nice to see you here posting videos. I'm watching a bunch of your older ones and you're doing a great job. It's very cool that you stepped up and made your own channel. Thanks for the entertainment. 😎 👏👏👏👏👏

So sorry for your loss, cancer is a big thing in my family as well so I totally understand where you're coming from. I'm happy I can remind you of your sister. I got V from playing women's softball. I'm glad you enjoy my channel so much. Thank you for your support as well 😊

Great video, thanks for posting it. I live on a farm as well and everything was good with my pit boss a few weeks ago. We ripped, plowed, fertilized and planted. It was pretty windy a few days and my pit boss was covered in dust. Fired it up and no fan. I'm pretty sure the dust got to it.

I've learned my lesson with these pellet smokers all I know is you can have them. Way too much maintenance and upkeep with about half the flavor of a wood or charcoal smoker. I get it for beginners and people who don't really want to learn the total skill of all around smoking for food preservation and cooking but it seems to constantly be something with the one I received as a gift so I ended up regifting hahaha

Not everyone uses it to smoke with. I use mine mostly for grilling and it's awesome. I also have a Weber, a offset,a barrel, and a gas grill. They each have their place.
When you want to cook something at a precise temperature, it's hard to beat a pellet grill. You're not going to get that flavor in your kitchen stove.

Hi V, Thank you for your review on the Pit Boss, I just got the same one and used it for the 1st time yesterday and the beef ribs were a disaster! The temp fluctuations went from 215 all the way to 260 after I had it set to 225. I am still not understanding it and watching and reading everything I can on how to fix this. I saw your video and it gave me hope that I can figure this out. Thanks again!

Having the PB for awhile now, I've just learned not to obsess over the temp fluctuations anymore. The way this pellet grill works is that the thermometer tells the auger when to dump more pellets when it drops below its set temp. When that happens, it will always go above the set temp and then it mellows down again. Similar to when you throw a piece of paper on to a fire. It flares up then it goes down. A difference in 50 degrees isn't that much of a difference with the end result of the product. For instance I made some spare ribs this past weekend, I set it at 225 and I had ranges from 215-260 (similar to yours) and the end result were still fantastic. I also suggest finding the hot spots on your grill by doing the bread test. For me, the coldest side is the right side, hottest in the middle and the left side is pretty close to what the temp says on the machine.
Hope all this helps and thanks for the support!

If you want steady temps, look at Recteq pellet grills. They are known for holding steady temps.

That sucks you had to replace the fan after just one year. Glad to hear the customer service was good and you got the grill back up and running.

Hey Paul! Honestly, with the way everything was handled, how fast my item was shipped and the fact it was a 10min repair, I couldn't even have been upset about it even if I wanted to be. The Boss is running like a champ now 💪 Hope all is well!
