@@joshuafult84 I actually did ask Trey the Zappa question after a show at The Palace here in Melbourne on the "California" album tour and he replied something like "nah not really" was his answer..
wow, this is very much Devo esp. circa 1975, when they did their horrific show opening for Sun Ra in masks as Clown, Jungle Jim, Booji Boy, & Chinaman fantastic
Trey has said that he went to school wearing the red helmet Devo wore at one point and all the fuck kids at the school shoved him into a dumpster because of it. They were def big Devo fans
hey, old farts (like myself)! Remember that Queen's album Innuendo that had The Show Must Go On etc. came out the same year as this one? Now, imagine you see any Queen clip from that album FOLLOWED by Travolta...
From my understanding they planned on continuing the mask props for California but the music got too complicated and was too hard to play good while wearing the masks. I think they should have tried harder.
I love m Mr.bungle not because of the mask but the creative music and I take every album as a different entity so mask or no mask it doesn't bother me but their first album most songs when I listen I picture them in mask lol
no slipnot thinks they are mr bungle from the mask to the jumpsuits they copied it all_ the original singer and band even tried to sound like them mr bungle was around 10 years before them
The Residents,Mr Bungle, and Devo in their early days started the idea of a masked band later used by Slipknot,Mushroom Head, and many other artists
DEVO were the first to wear jumpsuits
I think kiss takes that crown buddy.

Sorry, but Mr. Bungle existed and had the mask concept way before Slipknot was even conceived.
slipnot didnt only bite the idea of the mask the bit the idea of the jumpsuits as well - they had mouthfuls of bungle they were doing so much bitting
They said that bungle were influences before
Also Corey Taylor is hugely Influenced by Mike Patton
Devo in the 70’s.
Needless to say.
90’s Devo fashion with Zappa explorative music vibes.
i always heard zappa in their music, but ive never heard or read anyone from mr bungle cite him as an influence.
@@_Only_Zuul None of the members listened to Zappa's music or cared for it once they did listen to it.

@@_Only_Zuul Thanks for sharing that haha. Personally I never saw Zappa as experimental really. The only thing I noticed is he used whacky lyrics.
Fuck this need closed captions.

Please post, Thank you!
@James Connor Does he need money for a pair of binoculars, then? Or for a trip to some good bird sighting spots?

There's a hell of information to be commented about this video.

The answer to that is no sadly and by their last album California, the masks were mostly scrapped, most people knew who there were.
I liked Bungle better with masks.
