Purdue looks softer in the middle than I thought it would be. Getting dominated by Yale in “Points in the Paint” and struggling with rebounding are surprises. Three games in it’s obvious that the team misses Edey more than we hoped. The bigs need some work.
This is a Michigan st 2000s like team, tough schedule, working thru line ups, will have some early losses, but will be a good team at the end of the year for it
I'm very confused why he is on the roster. Painter had to know how slow and poor hands and NO defensive threat to block shots. Purdue is no longer "Big Man U". I can't remember in 50 years Purdue being so poor at the 5. Burgess looks like a lost puppy running saying hello to everyone in the room. Furst has lost the fight he used to have..he needs to come back to "Duke" form..elite D and rebounder. combined the 5s had only 4 points, 3 rebounds 1 block in 32 minutes !
@@Bakers924 Everyone hopes you are right. But our "projects" are currently not good enough to see the floor on most B10 teams. Fortunately the B10 is super mediocre this year as a league.
1)These turnovers have been happening w/ this PG for 3yrs. 2)I have never seen a Purdue team flinch on blocking foul contact like last night. 3)I have not observed a Purdue team leave their feet to pass or to play defense like this. Someone please get Mason Gillis back next yr to coach these guys on close outs. 4)it’s been a long time since Purdue did not have the best big man on the court…and it wasn’t close. 5) Purdue beat their 3rd tournament quality team in a row. That’s good!
@@CoachRP Braden Smith is elite and an All American but every player has its flaws. I accept his flaws. He just has to work on turnovers, but his assist to turnover ratio is more than 2 which is good. Some of those turnovers aren’t completely his fault.
When they start playing better competition, Friday and against Marquette and in the Big Ten, they’re going to have to get so much more out of those low post guys other than renn or they’re in trouble. Berg Furst burgess those guys have to produce both ends of the floor. They’re not going to hit 11+3’s and 20+ FT’s a game to make up for no post play. Renn can’t do it all. He’s not a 7’4 player of the year kind of guy
Thanks for the wrap Brian!

Thanks for the breakdown of each player. This team has to improve on their rebounding and turnovers
You can see the cracks in the team without Edey

Thanks, Brian. Going to bed.
Omoruyi is gonna eat in Mackey methinks.
I hate to say it but Will Berg is unplayable. He can’t rebound out of his area, shoot a free throw, nor finish through contact.

@ I don’t agree with that. Some projects work out.

Totally agree
I think Berg has potential to be decent
