I know it sounds a little strange, but I’ll just randomly think-I wonder how Jamerrill is doing. I’ve had my own struggles and trauma the last couple years and if I’ve learned anything, it’s that happiness and sadness can co-exist and there is beauty in the broken. Good job Mama on the solo parent vacation!! Your kids will appreciate you for this one. After my divorce in the 90’s I loaded up our 4 sons in the ford Taurus.. this was in the dark ages before cell phones. 😆 I drove from Minnesota to Kansas to visit family. To this day my sons still talk about that trip. 🤪 Barfing on the way home, stopping at the Kmart bathroom to clean everyone up. Needless to say, none of them ever ate pop tarts again. 🤣 Memories were made that’s all that mattered. ❤
I live on the Outer Banks and worked in Property Management/Rentals for over 20 years. You mentiond not being able to take "things" back with you (food) and I would offer this... leave what you don't/can't use in the house. Some rental companies have a non-perishable drop box at their office- we did at the company I worked for & we would donate it to the local food bank., Alternatively, leave it in the house just 'cause. A lot of housekeepers in our area travel over an hour or more to clean those houses on turnover day. Depending on the company policy for the company they work for, a lot of them are able to take those things home. We're talking toilet paper, paper towels, food, etc.... It makes a difference for a lot of people. As they say, "Another man's trash is another man's treasure"

I have so many huge feelings about your day. 12 years ago, I had a very special week planned for myself to celebrate every accomplishment of mine. 2 days before that trip, my world exploded. Thankfully, my sister managed canceling my trip and swaddling me like she'd done when we were both 55 years younger. Now, today our chat (you and me) has reminded me that I never rescheduled. I really enjoyed your vacation. My family and my mama and disabled brother use to go every year. We were right on the beach by the Wright Brothers Monument. Nothing is more calming than sitting on the deck listening to the ocean. This video brought back such good memories. I lost mama a few years ago and haven’t been back since. I suffered a second trimester miscarriage over this past Thanksgiving and I haven’t been the same since. The pain is indescribable and feels never ending. The constant ache in my chest, and feeling guilty because I do have 2 beautiful children and I am grateful for them, but the guilt over the feeling of wanting more. If that even makes sense… it’s incredibly hard. And incredibly isolating. It’s like a constant grieving process. I truly do feel for you. I’m going to pray for you, Jamerrill 🙏🏻 I’m going to pray for solace and peace in your heart 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️ You’re not alone, and you are loved!

There is nothing more satisfying than using up the last of things. I still hear my great grandmother say "use it up and wear it out". Every time I make a meal using up the previous meal or leftover ingredients, I always think of her. Lord I love that generation!!

I was a single working mom for many years because of circumstances beyond my control. Thank God for His grace and guidance and for my parents! My oldest two are adults now, married with kids. I remarried two years ago and now have two amazing bonus kids in high school. We are taking the high schoolers and grandmas to the beach soon! Yippee!!! We can do hard things!!! God bless you

A wonderful trip and great memories. One of my most proud and hardest trip was the first BIG vacation during my divorce. We had a wonderful time but it was scary for me. It was all me and 3 children under the age of 11 but my kids remember it differently- my oldest said mom I can’t believe you don’t remember.. it was the best. Praise the Lord. 🥰

I honestly think I will join this trend on our next vacay… breakfast will be served in martini glasses tell ur babies they are uniting momma’s across the country bc I mean why not 😂 Nags Head is a jewel & such a beautiful place! I love the distance between the homes they aren’t on top of each other like most beach communities!! What a blessing & a much needed reset if even for a week that you & the babies deserve!! I will say your light is coming back momma! We know it’s easy to fake it til you make it BUT I’ve seen it a few times now! Yes this happy place can do some healing as well! My prayers will continue but momma you have this! Look if you can keep 8 kids thriving & surviving 0-18 (that’s no easy task) darling you are already a super hero & can do/overcome ANYTHING!! I was a single working mom for many years because of circumstances beyond my control. Thank God for His grace and guidance and for my parents! My oldest two are adults now, married with kids. I remarried two years ago and now have two amazing bonus kids in high school. We are taking the high schoolers and grandmas to the beach soon! Yippee!!!

A wonderful trip and great memories. One of my most proud and hardest trip was the first BIG vacation during my divorce. We had a wonderful time but it was scary for me. It was all me and 3 children under the age of 11 but my kids remember it differently- my oldest said mom I can’t believe you don’t remember.. it was the best. Praise the Lord. 🥰

I honestly think I will join this trend on our next vacay… breakfast will be served in martini glasses tell ur babies they are uniting momma’s across the country bc I mean why not 😂 Nags Head is a jewel & such a beautiful place! I love the distance between the homes they aren’t on top of each other like most beach communities!! What a blessing & a much needed reset if even for a week that you & the babies deserve!! I will say your light is coming back momma! We know it’s easy to fake it til you make it BUT I’ve seen it a few times now! Yes this happy place can do some healing as well! My prayers will continue but momma you have this! Look if you can keep 8 kids thriving & surviving 0-18 (that’s no easy task) darling you are already a super hero & can do/overcome ANYTHING!! Just keep singing this little light of mine 😃

Girl I'm 64 I raised5 kids and beach trips were most of our vacations in the summer.we did like you I cooked our meals did sandwiches.tried to do at least 2 adventures during the week.brought back wounderful memories this mother's day weekend.so much fun .God Bless you.where there's will there's away and with God's help is absolutely beautiful ♥️
