Brilliant video as always! I love layering different waveforms to get nice synth sounds, but I also love getting two different breakbeats and layering them together. It's a fantastic technique, and it's possible on lots of hardware which is why I do it lots on my S950! Keep these videos coming, I enjoy them a lot and I like learning new tricks and getting advice from you!
What's up Presley!!!! Thanks a million for watching!!!!!!! Very much appreciated!!!!! Yep it's an amazing for sure and your absolutely right! Most samplers have the ability to layer sounds. Nice usage of layers with drum breaks by the way!!!!

I have an Akai s3000xl and I realize it’s pretty easy to do layering with it! I’m trying out rn! Thanks and great video once again !
Re: point #5: You can almost think of those layer switches in your sequence as an early form of parameter locks like what we see today on newer drum machines and samplers. Resample the same snare but with reverb or delay on it and it's like modulating the fx parameters.
Again - your videos are simply amazing and very inspiring, and the production makes it wonderful to watch. One thing that constantly are popping into my head when watching your videos is what is this guys workflow? How do you actually go about making something from an idea to a fully structured song using hardware/software/mixed? Personally, I've found that working either 100% in the box or hardware is the simplest. Mixing the two always creates so many weird problems - especially latency and sync. So if you are having a hard time coming up with ideas for a video - I'd love to hear your methodology and what you've found out to work best for you.
hey dude, having a weird problem. Trying to do something similar, send a kick on C4 out of the main outputs, and layer 2 has the same kick on C4 but sending to aux1 (going to sidechain.) Only problem is, when i have them both set to C4 only one of them will play. I put one of them down on B3 as a workaround, but it means I have to program my kicks twice. Any thoughts on why it would do this? Using mono samples.
Damn I was thinking about this yesterday, I havent seen the video yet but layering samples is hard for me because I cant get them to sound good edit: Didnt really mean percussion i was thinking about layering melodies maybe it isnt possible
What's up Sebastian!!!!! Thanks for reaching out!!! Essentially layering melodies have the same end goal as layering a group of single sounds together. It's ideal if they go well together. It takes a bit of practice. While playing about, as soon as you hear melodies/chords that sound good together your done.
The Daydream Sound yes , thay would be easier if you use the sample whereas if you want to use two melodies from two diferent songs you have to make sure its in the same key, thats where it gets tricky
Yep! Your ears will never lie to you. That's the best thing to rely on. Aside from that I'm thinking we could make a video on harmony. Even though it's possible to train your ears to recognize harmony it's also really good to know the theory behind why certain melodies blend together easier than others.

What's up Peter!!! Yep it's crazy!!!! You can have an entire separate sequence along the main one on a patch select!!!
I really appreciate these videos, thank you. Resampling within the Ensoniq's is something I hope that you will also cover.
What's up Isolde & Isobelle!!!!!! You're welcome and Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!! We can definitely cover Re-sampling!!!!! Thanks for the suggestion!!!!!!
I hope so as well. I have trouble resampling without using up all the memory on the EPS 16+
Great video like always!🎹🔥💣🧨🚀👀
