I have WALKED under the Upper Falls. Yes, 75 years ago tourists could walk on the ground, no boards, down to the falls and keep walking under the falling water, and look out through the falling water... yes 75 years ago... I am about to have my 84th birthday... and we still RV with our 40 ft diesel pusher, and... BEFORE we watched this video, we had already to spend time in the U.P. this August... Have fun.
Cody, my husband and I both smiled at how protective you are with Kellie:). We are in our 70’s and we just don’t observe that kind of tenderness much anymore. It’s sweet and we have great appreciation for it. We just subscribed when we caught y’all up in our neck of the woods. I’m originally from Memphis but have lived in Michigan longer than I lived south:). Love your content and your relationship💕 We figure y’all are headed towards the Porkies? I still chuckle when I remember catching sight of them the first time. It was after a build up of the Porcupine mountains….”Y’all call THESE mountains?!” But it really is quite beautiful. God bless you in your continuing travels💕
“I gotta keep angel princess safe because she is priceless”! 🥰. Kelli is a lucky gal. Cody is the kinda guy all women deserve but some don’t allow ourselves to have.
Hey Cody and Kelli, I love your adventures and the fact that y’all are enjoying life in the manner in which you want to and those are treasured memories. I am from Collierville Tennessee and we have camped in Arkansas quite a bit. My prayer is that God will watch over you keep you safe and provide everything that you need and also I love the interaction between you two, the way you have your campsite set up in Kelli’s kitchen is amazing and I love the spontaneity of Cody going fishing Or just finding an adventure that you want to go on. Keep the videos coming I thoroughly enjoy it
Been watching your videos for some time now and being born and raised in Michigan I just want to say that you guys are now officially michiganders now that you have experienced our crazy weather...lol welcome!
Michigan is beautiful - but unpredictable. I’ve been in a snow storm at a campsite near Lake Superior in July. Then 80 the next day. Love you both. Hang in there.
You certainly live in a beautiful country. I feel like I’m on a tour & your my guides. Wow the falls at 9.01 - 9.58 spectacular. Love love the thunder. Old man thunder is sure angry 😡. You sure are a good team. All this rain 🌧 hail thunder & Kellie can still cook an amazing meal. Cheers Lynne Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🐨👍🏻💙❤️
Wow that was terrifying. So happy for you two that all is well. Kelly is your angel princess but I think you are her knight in shining armor. Loved the water falls, so beautiful. I think you two are courageous and so adventurous thanks for sharing your travels.
Thank you for answering the question about the water color. I've seen the UP in other videos and the water color has always perplexed me. Glad you got back to camp just in time and were able to work as a team to keep the hail from building up on the awning. Food looks great! Stay safe and God bless.
Watching you both dealing with the storm was exciting and having experienced several rain deluge and snowstorms myself heightened that anxiety about the results or the effects on equipment and your vehicle. One hack I use is take a long handled squeegee (cut it to length if necessary) and duck tape a foam noodle, cut to necessary length, to the squeegee. Use it to gently push water or snow off the tarp. The foam noodle lessens any possibility of tarp damage. Your hands don't get wet and cold. A hail storm on one of my campouts in Texas produced almost softball size hail and made several cracks in my windshield ($400 to replace). My Aqua Quest Defender tarp withstood the storm with no damage. The "noodle stick" helped tremendously in ridding water and hail collection. Love your videos! Between you guys and Catherine Gregory my Sunday mornings with coffee and oatmeal make a great start for my day. Thank you!
You two function like a well oiled machine. I love the way you look out for each other and minimize the stress overall. So glad you are safe and none of your stuff got ruined. 😊
I'm from Michigan from just north of Detroit, but we vacationed up north every year. We used to go to the Tahquamenon Falls every couple years. As a kid we called it the Root Beer Falls because of the color and the foam. I've vacation in 48 states (all except Alaska and Hawaii) and I have always said Michigan definitely lives up to the saying "If you don't like the weather give it 10 minutes and it will change." OK, that's a bit of an exaggeration but you certainly get a bit of all kinds of weather over a few day camping trip. Enjoy your travels.
Wow! What a storm! We were worried for you both but what an amazing story to tell about that storm! Cody is always looking out for Kelly. Love that! Nice waterfalls too! Can’t wait to see the rest of UP Michigan!
Great video! I camped on the beach in Munising once and a storm rolled in. I had to stake a tarp over the tent because the 30mph winds and rain rolled in off the water for 26hrs straight! It shook the zippers loose in the tent. The person camping with me and I say we deserve a survival badge or something for making it through that lol no matter though....the beauty and experiences you see and have there definitely outweigh the bad weather! Safe travels! ✌️❤️😊🤙
You did the falls justice. So glad you got to see the falls. Don’t miss the Black River. Many excellent falls there. You will be amazed. Porcupine Mountains is gorgeous. Just take your bear spray.
We occasionally get a kick ass thunder storm here in Colorado and the lightning at high altitude can be very intense. Also the hail can at times do the same. We are having monsoon rains and so far they have been quite mild but that I know from experience can change very quickly. Unfortunately my Angel Princess no longer goes camping so it's one less thing for me to worry about when conditions are challenging. She is 72 and I am 70 so if you get to this age it's inevitable that things will change. You accept it and go on doing the best you can while you can. I hope you two have as many wonderful years as we have had enjoying the beauty of nature and what it offers to your spirit and soul. May Peace and Joy be with you as you venture forward.
I should have suggested this the last time you had water issues with your awning. One possible solution is to get a couple of extendable painter poles & put a tennis ball on the end of them to push the awning up in the middle. Should be a light weight and easy to store solution. My wife & I have loved watching your videos.
If you don’t like the weather in Michigan wait 5 minutes. Be prepared for the wet, choose a well drained tent pad. A Michigan Thunderstorm can produce 2+ inches of rain in 15 minutes. Great shots of the Root beer Float falls.
Cody and Kelli, love your adventures so much and especially Kelli's kitchen! I live in upper East Tennessee and wanted to tell you some places to visit near us. Dupont Forest in Western North Carolina is extremely beautiful. Parts of The Last of the Mohicans and The Hunger Games were filmed here. Waterfalls and the views are breathtaking! I think you would love Ashville NC with Sliding Rock and Biltmore Estate. Also check out Fall Creek Falls, Rock Island State Park, and Burgess Falls in Tennessee in between Knoxville and Nashville. The waterfalls are incredible!
I recommended this to you in comments and I'm so happy you're going to see it. We were there about 5 years ago and pictured rocks too up on lake superior. Hoping you are going there too because you will love it. Simply beautiful.
Love storms and have enjoyed your journey with you both! Glad everything held up for you during the hail. If you ever come through Ohio and would love to visit the Hocking Hills you are welcome to camp at my place! Safe travels and keep making those memories together!
Yooperlites! You have to hunt for yooperlites while you're there!! Trust me!! Its soooooo much fun finding glowing orange rocks under a vast sky full of stars & listening to the waves of Lake Superior..🥰 Look it up!
Now that's a river...and a waterfall! You don't often see that. The last time I saw something like that was in Yellowstone! That does it, we gotta get up there!
I have been watching your videos, I love how you covered Michigan! My home! I’m glad you showcased a few of the great places in Michigan! You guys rock!
So glad you got to go there, we love it! The chipmunks up on the boardwalk will sometimes try to eat right out of your hands. Congrats on joining the Yooper club, you ain't seen nothing yet :)
some people call the Falls root beer falls cause of the color and the foam that forms at the bottom. We will be up there in about a month, to do the exact samething. (this will be my 6th time in the UP).............IF you get as far as the Kewanaw, make sure you take the time to go on a tour of the copper mines.........do not remember the name, but there is one that has a cog train/tram you start at the top and take it to the bottom and than tour the mine. So cool hearing the history of that place. Also, historic Fayette is a goast town now, but on the national historic register. Check that out too! Thanks for taking us along!
Those waterfalls are beautiful! And what an intense pop up storm. Hail is just insane isn't it? Glad y'all's tent held up. The pasta looked great....I love arugula! I put it on top of my pizza when I make one at work. Glad I'm all caught up in your video! -Hedy
Make sure you go swimming in the Laughing Whitefish Falls and visit Crisp's Point Light, I helped restore that lighthouse. Its near the two hearted river.
I'm so glad that you are having such a GREAT time here in Michigan, Maybe one day I'll be able to go up into the UP. & see some of these same sites, but if not I'm Blessed that you both have been able 2 & that your sharing these places W/All of us. I bet Jonathan wishes that he could be up here W/You guys... & I know how deeply you both miss him & the rest of your families, but your having the time of your lives & you only live once....
That kind of weather makes for miserable tent camping for sure. I camped in tents throughout Michigan when I was a child with my family. That size hail is some of the smaller sized hail we get in Texas. Golf ball sized is not unusual and also baseball sized and larger happens somewhere every year. It happened in Dublin TX about 3 years ago and the hail was so big and heavy it went right through the roofs of the houses. That's why we have a metal roof!
When you go through Pennsylvania you need to visit Ricketts Glen State Park there are 22 named water falls along a trail you can start from the park hike down one side and back up the other allowing you to see all of the falls. The 92 foot Ganoga Falls is the highest and over all a beautiful day hike. Just don’t expect the trail to be like the one in the UP……
What a wonderful rain you had there! Could really use some down here in TX😧. Next time it rains on y'all, catch some in your hand and blow it south! Another nice camp spot! Safe travels till next time🌩🌞!
Love that you are in Michigan. It is my home state. You have been going through a lot of my old stomping grounds. While in the cub scouts and then the boy scouts and another small group called explorers, I have been in most of the places you have been in and going to. As for the weather, my grand dad, used to tell me if you don't like the weather in Michigan, wait 10 minutes and it will change! Love the dynamics of your videos and the fact that you work so well together. Stay safe, have fun and can't wait for the next one!
Never been to the T.Falls, they used to say it looked like Root Beer, with the foam below, a Root Beer Float! Sorry that you had to experience nasty weather on your visit. I hope you enjoy the rest of your travels thru MI.
OMGoodness! That weather just got worse and worse didn’t it? Now, that awning. That thing is a serious PITA. I don’t know how you remain so patient with it. You’re clearly made of some stern stuff. Im glad nothing was damaged and that you were able to see the sites before the bottom dropped out. Safe travels to your next destination.
Walcome to Michigan's weather I call it a bipolar state I was up there to the waterfall's last year beautiful there I hope you two go and see kitch-iti-kipi it beautiful too I just getting home from Michigan I love it there and I live in Arizona I will be back in Michigan soon don't know what my adventure will lead me to enjoy Michigan and watch out for those storm's and Cody you are wonderful man thanking and worrying about Kelly safety and her health
Been busy working got today off haven't got to watch you all in a couple weeks going to watch all the ones I've missed and the hail that size can damage vehicles had just bought a new 🚗 and a hail storm with hail marble size like you Cody had in your hand destroyed my car it had thousands of little dings in it that was here in WV where I live we'll enough of that hope to see you all in WV one of these days love you all both and your videos thanks for your amazing content your friend Mike
That hail storm was something else you guys. I'm praying for your safety daily. Have a blast though you will love the up it is absolutely heaven up there. Can't wait to see where all you go.
I was there last week just missed you. If you don’t need electric try the State Forest Campgrounds up there. Sites are so much bigger and nicer. Kingston Lake inside the pictured rocks lakeshore was a beautiful campground.
Wowzer that was quite the hail storm for the UP - in the 9 years I lived up there I never experienced a storm like that, what a bummer you experience camping there was so bad, you just never know what Michigan has in store weather wise. Just hoping the rest of your adventure is better. Glad you are OK
Wow, beautiful waterfalls. The storm tested your tent out very well happy it sustained and no damage to it or any damage to all your belongings! Glad you both came through the storm unscathed. Take Care, Safe Travels! Sincerely, Shay's Ways
Great place Paradise Michigan and go further north to whitefish point they have a museum up there with a lot of stuff from the Edmund Fitzgerald which sank not far from there
Wow! That was a great video and exciting. Are you sure you weren't in Texas? (Wink, wink) you know we have that kind of crazy weather all in one day! Yall should get a broom and that would help you guys lift up the canvas roof for rainfall. Use the bristles only, not the handle. You can also clean off your tent fly.
WOW!! Now that was a nice storm! The hail nearly covered the ground around your setup there! What an adventure. I enjoy a good storm now and then. Thanks for sharing this adventure!
Cody, we love the info you provide about the local areas you are visiting. We were uppers for a week last June, and love seeing you two at the falls. Seeing you two there make us want to go back. What the hail were y’all doing at camp?!!! LOL
I have WALKED under the Upper Falls. The good thing about the storm:
1. No Mosquitoes
2. No No-see-ums
3. No black flies
I love your adventures, have fun in the U.P.
boy those mosquitoes up north can be brutal, same for the black flies!
As a yooper, our old people have a saying, "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes." Welcome to the UP!

Youz guys always know where to put the camera for the best dramatic effect as in that hail storm. Truly, professional.

Hey you guys welcome to the north with the hale storms. It is heart racing to be in the storm. it's all about adventure.
I do not usually, but that was insane!!! Oh Hail no 🤣. This is one experience you’re r not likely to get forget soon!
Ah, Michigan. Born and raised. Love Michigan thunderstorms. Surprised you didn't get the wind that usually happens.
Cody, I wish we could clone you! Just kidding, but the way you always look out for Kelli is heartwarming. I cannot wait to try that pasta too!
Now that's a river...and a waterfall! You don't often see that. The last time I saw something like that was in Yellowstone! That does it, we gotta get up there!

It could be brutal
Happy you are good and protected

Joys of tent and tarp living
Cody drops the beans when making coffee, and Kelli you do not. lol

Let me be one of many Michiganders to say we know Michigan’s weather is crazy. Rule no#1 pack for 4 seasons. 😊
Looking forward to watching tonight!❤⛺❤

Oh my gosh what a hail storm!!! Y'all really have me wanting to go to Michigan.

Ok that hail storm was crazy!!! Thank goodness all ok and gear ok. Great footage tho. Michigan looks fabs!!! Safe travels.
Wow so glad you did not get hurt if you where walking back oh boy well your finding out how the household is holding up for different weather
What a wonderful rain you had there! Could really use some down here in TX😧. Next time it rains on y'all, catch some in your hand and blow it south! Another nice camp spot! Safe travels till next time🌩🌞!
In rain or hail, use a broom from below to walk the hail or puddles off the canopy.
👍👍👍👍👍, Cool falls and some hail excitement!!!!!!
If you want to see something absolutely beautiful you should also go to Pictured Rocks. If you aren’t planning to already.
Been to Tahquamenon falls many times. Last time in 2018. My husband though, originally from NJ had never been.
Welcome to Northern Michigan. Crazy storms in the summer.
This makes me want to explore Michigan!!!
Wow quite the storm and hail!
I was there last year. It is so beautiful!!
Who is Banjo Jo on Kellie’s shirt? My husband plays banjo. I live your videos.
What a thriller! You were both very brave through that storm. I will definitely be trying out that pasta dish you made. 👍
Michigan weatherman have a hard job. These lakes make them use guesswork
Oh wow that hail was coming down!!
It’s the only State that allows you to experience all 4 seasons, in one DAY!!!
😂😂😂
Welcone to Michigan where you wanna know what the weather's like, wait 5 mins lol.
When we were there, the sign says 50,000 gallons traveled over the falls per second.
So far loving your posts!
The Williams, Ohio
Never been to the T.Falls, they used to say it looked like Root Beer, with the foam below, a Root Beer Float! Sorry that you had to experience nasty weather on your visit. I hope you enjoy the rest of your travels thru MI.

Im glad nothing was damaged and that you were able to see the sites before the bottom dropped out. Safe travels to your next destination.
We were just there in early June. We recommend checking out Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore if you are still close by.
I just did that same trip through the UP! Kitch-iti-Kip I in Manistique is gorgeous and only a little over an hour from St. Ignace!
Omg that was some crazy weather. I don’t think that is normal. Happy no casualties. Onward and upward.

I was there last week just missed you. If you don’t need electric try the State Forest Campgrounds up there. Sites are so much bigger and nicer. Kingston Lake inside the pictured rocks lakeshore was a beautiful campground.
Great video 💖
Hello by watching you at The Falls I remember I have pictures of that falls from last year on my phone around this time I thought that was pretty cool

Can’t wait for tonight - we love the FALLS
Next go to Seney National wild life center, and Fayetteville! I love going to the UP!
Pool noodles between frame and tarp work wonders to help run off and not pond up jim NC
I hope you get better weather. Stay safe.
Like Niagara Falls but only smaller. Beautiful either way.
Wow, beautiful waterfalls. The storm tested your tent out very well happy it sustained and no damage to it or any damage to all your belongings! Glad you both came through the storm unscathed. Take Care, Safe Travels! Sincerely, Shay's Ways
😲 whoa that was exciting😬Glad nothing was damaged. Thanks once again for a wonderful video💚🌲
Definitely going to have to try that recipe. Yum!!!
Darn, that was a doozie of a storm!
LOL
