Directional boring/Directional drilling is fantastic technology because it spares tree root systems from damage. Turf grass is cheap to fix (landscaping can be expensive). But tree roots can't be fixed, only avoided. Directional boring avoids damaging tree roots!

Wow that water line is really shallow here in the north we are used to drilling at 7' deep ..5' minimum for us.

rocsvt1 yes the waterlines are not very deep here. The climate is mild and the max depth required is 24 inches. As you move across the county into the mountains it goes to 36 inches in 48 inches. But in this area it is shallow. The water meters are only 12 inches deep so the waterlines have to rise up to the water meter depth. Every once in a while they do freeze when we get a cold snap.

@@hukillsinc How do you guys like that jt9? We currently run vermeer but that drill looks very nice.

rocsvt1 It has been a beautiful machine. Our guys seem to really enjoy running it. We had a Vermeer an older one and they really like this one. But the other Vermeer was a smaller unit and more of a bear to handle.
