Completed in 1940 to host massive hoard of tourists wanting to visit Hitler, the station is colossal in size. The architecture is a throw back to Nazi-era architecture. This is a must see for history, architecture and train enhusiasts.

Wow very cool! I like how antique the interior looks.
So cool! We were there a few months ago. I wish I’d known this beforehand!
Well, I am a train station and WW2 nerd so I did a bit of research on this. I probably only touched maybe 30% of the history of the station. Most in Germany preferably want to forget
It is amazing! We are from Canada and very interested in WW2 history. We would like to go back to this area to explore some more. Thanks for your work!
@@helenamclean3392 Oh Boy be prepared! You can still see as example the Guard Shack manned by SS as you begin the hill climb to The Berghof area. It’s really eerie
There used to be a bar/ club in the basement of the Bahnhof in the late 80s. We drank a few beers there
That’s spooky. Is it still open?
@@swissclimber1The restaurant on the station is called Watz. I don’t know what makes this spooky for you.
Berchdesgarten is a cool little town. Sure, we went to the eagles nest but Hitler and NAZIS were the last thing on our mind as we strolled around. Sadly, we did not get to Lake Eibsee but we could see it and it looks beautiful. That "bad boy" Hitler had good taste in mountains.
The village and some of the motifs on the walls had swastika. In fact many of the parade of Nazi went through the village. It was freaky to see the fountain that's still there and then see pictures of Nazi crowding around the same thing. Check out a few YT Berchtesdagen Now and Then.
Spooky??
Probably worst title you could have come up with. Maybe look up the definition of spooky before misusing it all over the place 😊
