A Great closing concert! We remember Rhiannon when she was at the Montreal Folk Festival with the Carolina Chocolate Drops some years back. As the weather has finally warmed a bit I have been wearing my Celtic Colours jacket which has given opportunity to talk about the festival. Can't wait for October!
The best recording I have of "Julie" includes a charming but seemingly interminable prologue. As for this one, I like Powell's fiddling, but I it doesn't serve the lyrics as well as the spare accompaniment of solo banjo.
