Back in the 1970s, I had the "Aurora" album with the original studio version of "Renaissance". I still ❤LOVE ❤ this piece! I saw Jean Luc Ponty live in Sydney back in the olden days - I was mesmerised. Fabulous music! And what Ponty was doing with synthesisers with his violin back then! Just magic! Thank you so much for uploading this, and bringing all this back to my memory - I just now raced off and bought the original of "Renaissance" again. I'm so glad it's still around!!! Sadly, my amazing "muso's collection" of rock and jazz fusion, direct-to-disk, master editions, and American Import LPs are long gone.

Its really amazing because they make their interaction with each other appear to be so easy and relaxed... And how they allow their individual instruments to compliment each other...Which makes this a thing sustained power and grace. As always Jean Luc's composition is a thing of beauty.

The "Aurora" album introduced me to Daryl Steurmer in 1977 when l was in the US Navy out in San Francisco CA. Your point is taken. He was mega melodic on that solo. If that wasn't enough---he was later paired with Allan Holdsworth on Ponty's "Turtle To The Sea" album---and let's not forget Patrice Rushen was all over "Aurora"

What we really have here is 3 of the world's greatest musicians showing us why they are. The peanut brains and dumbasses in the world who want to call this fake jazz, have no idea what jazz really is and should not be allowed to pollute the air that these magnificent players occupy. This is what music should be about, and we do not do enough to honor and recognize this kind of talent in our world. Its very sad when u think about it.
