Janne Q My parents speak my native language to me 95% of the things they say, for my whole life (I’m 20 now) but yet I am still unable to fluently speak or read/write in it. It’s MORE than just the parents but also how it is when we live here. We are constantly forced to chose between our American side or our other native side and as a result since speaking English is the way to survive, we choose to go to school to learn English, to be taught in English, and etc. Yes there are people who despite these conditions are able to keep their native tongue, and I applaud them for that because that is not an easy thing to do, and I envy them because I couldn’t do it. But just because some folks can keep their tongue, doesn’t mean that everyone else should be able to despite their conditions. Not everyone could sadly and it is not to put blame solely onto the parents because sometimes no matter how much your parents speak to you in your native language, you still lose it along the way somehow and it’s really saddening. I do not blame my parents at all, they tried their best.

I am waiting for a Korean celeb to be on the American Masked Singer now. This is awesome with possibilities of special guests on both sides. The American show has some big differences but it is very entertaining and I hope it sees many seasons.
He was born in the United States. Sadly it’s easy to not had completely learn your ethnic language because since we live in America we speak English. Same goes for me, my parents came over here and I was born here but I have never completely learned my language because we are taught to speak English when I am anywhere but home. As a result I barely know any basic words and phrases and I can’t even read/write in my own language. It’s sad really. And I applaud those who come here but are still able to fluently speak their ethnic tongue because I couldn’t.
This is the reality for many foreign raised Koreans. A lot of people tend to forget that just bc you happen to be of a certain ethnicity, doesn't necessarily mean you speak the language fluently A common example I've been seeing a lot are people asking any Korean person to teach them Korean, etc. A lot of the times, most of the Korean they're being taught is incorrect lmao

I really wanted to see him and finally i had chance to see him right next my house but his show was already sold out so fast, i hope to see him again
OMG I didn't know Ken Jeong was in this program!!!! we LOVE YOU!!!!! from Korea
As korean i've never heard him speaking korean
People askin' "What CAN'T the man do!?" Apparently, speak Korean. LOL
NO HATE 'THO, no hate! I mean God knows I can't learn a second language to save my life and I haven't done a quarter of the shit he's accomplished!
Well, God’s fair after all
He probably does know a 2nd language since you have to have some level of it to get into college. Most schools don't offer Korean as a language, just Spanish or French.
What a beautiful voice!!! Ken is so talented.... who would have thought he has such a beautiful voice!!!!!! Love it!!!!
I like how they do the reveal on this one they to do the masked singer like this

0:41.... uhhhh
I said the same thing and barely anyone in the comments are talking about it 🤨
So does Koreans appreciate him as much as we do here in America now? I hope so because Ken is lovely, funny smart and cool af!
Wow! He can really sing! So surprised. He is a doctor, comedian, actor, tv and film star AND he sings. Sings beautifully I must say!
OMG I LOVE KEN 😍
Lol I remember in an interview Ken said that Korea didn't like him 😂😂 He's one of my fave actors/comedians
i don't know but his face is soo cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I think people tend to forget he's a doctor as well. So yeah, he's hilarious, down to earth AND smart. An inspiration.
He is Tajiri
I loooove ken jeong in so happy he's on this show and doing the American version of it
Anyone watching this when he is the host of masked singer in the us?

I am waiting for a Korean celeb to be on the American Masked Singer now. This is awesome with possibilities of special guests on both sides.
The American show has some big differences but it is very entertaining and I hope it sees many seasons.
Ken Jeong is a doctor, comedian, actor and a singer wow
Wow ken Jeong he’s very funny and is a good guesser on USA masked singer(only guessed one right but still love him)
아니 이사람이 여기에 다 나오네;;
i thought at least he would speak some koreans 😅 but he needs a translator
@Andrew Lee he didnt came to America, his father did. He was born there.
A lot of people tend to forget that just bc you happen to be of a certain ethnicity, doesn't necessarily mean you speak the language fluently
A common example I've been seeing a lot are people asking any Korean person to teach them Korean, etc.
A lot of the times, most of the Korean they're being taught is incorrect lmao
If I ever go to China or other mandarin speaking countries, I need a translator too. XD I felt bad before, but now seeing Ken Jeong needing a translator, I felt that embarrassment coming off of me. Yes, I was born and raised in US.
So the American mask singer started I proud that this is originally a korean program and USA bought the laws iam proud although iam not a korean but I fell after 10 years of being addicting to kdrama and kpop like iam one 😍😢☺️☺️☺️ love from Morocco
Yeah knew it.
Ken "Mr. Chow" Jeong
Every Kpop fans talking about underrated idol.. Well, this is the real one..
I thought I saw him somewhere . And then I remembered
*FUCKIN WASTE IT ON ME*
Oh my gosh!! Ken Jeong is on Mask Singer. I love it. I like his introduction in Korean.
Expecting an AMERICAN who happens to have Korean ancestry to know their language is no different than expecting “black” people to know African languages.

unfortunately the US version doesn´t even come close the the korean version.
I hope it´ll still improve. Atleast they let the singers sing longer in round 2...
