Will you make the Corporate Arch Demoness proud or succumb to bitter tears of failure?"
I upload the intro to Cruelty Squad. To show people who are mildly interested in the game without true spoilers. I hope this convinced people to play Cruelty Squad.
that bit at the start with the protagonist just standing in a shower motionless is inexplicably funny to me

I've always interpreted it as one of his prospective colleagues - he's looking down at the massacre while "it's the sort of work you enjoy, but you'll have to adjust to a more corporate mindset" is said
@@vido2744 Ahh, that's an interesting take. The only caveat to that is the shooter is just wildly spraying at randoms in the street directly below him with seemingly no objective in mind. That's what makes me think it's more of an unhinged mass shooting and thus just a reflection of the violent society our protagonist lives in.
@@kdbrown777 Yeah it's more in line with that, however it is established that the cost of life is negative, and it's trivial to reconstitute one's being after being killed. So it's not really as big of a tragedy as a mass shooting normally is, but it does set up the sort of world that Cruelty Squad takes place in.

I don't know why but the way the Handler casually calls MT a _'fucked up detatched loser'_ without any resistance is some of the funniest shit I've seen recently in any game.
Only a loser would wear glasses while taking a shower.

I think cruelty squad is actually one of the few games that work better spoiled than not. Speaking as a person who had it relatively spoiled, i think it helps you adjust to the game before playing it. I mean, most initial playthroughs i see often talk about refunding the game before rebuying it.
I don't know, I remember watching a good few reviews before buying the game that had a lot of footage and even spoiled a lot of the secrets as well. I will say having some stuff like the sacred resolution and the fact that paintings with hidden levels are scattered about as well as upgrades was a good spoiler, but if someone spoiled one of the endings for me or the effects missions had on the stock market that it would've taken a lot away from me. It's honestly pretty hard to spoil cruelty squad considering how obtuse and abstract it is, but discovering the unique mechanics and strange, distorted logic of it was a giant part of the appeal for me. I honestly adore Cruelty squad's overall story and am glad I didn't have that spoiled for me, though it'd be hard to spoil in the first place.

When I first played I did not understand at all what was going on for like 2 hours
kinda fitting how a ‘sewage-fused garbage world’ is better enjoyed spoiled
I genuinely don’t think it’s possible to beat this game blind, nobody on their own would ever figure out how to get Hope Eradicated (Or even understand how difficulty works) and find where to get the Death Surgery

my personal goty 2021, it's been a while since i've played a game that's so compelling as cruelty squad. i wanted to fully explore every single level, buy every weapon and augment, find every secret, talk to everyone.
this is not a game that's made for everybody, but if you're a certain kind of person it just grabs you and does not let go. i 100%'d it around december last year and just can not stop thinking about it. consumer softproducts is a visionary, i look forward to what he does in the future. i want to shake his hand and buy him a beer. Play. This. Game.
He's started a another project, looks like a mech assault type game. It is too early to tell.

I wasn't entirely sure if I would like cruelty squad but when I booted it up for the first time and the camera switched to the shot of the MC in the shower and the phone ring sound playing in the background I knew it was going to be an experience I would not soon forget
