The best teacher on skill building . Brain Kelly's is the best teacher on applying the circle of fifths for chord progression. I like this guy's emphasis in concentrating on a small skill set . He gives the example of learning Spanish i for visiting a Spanish speaking restaurant only, to become a native speaker capable for anything to do with ordering food I might try his technique in the use of a sling shot to shoot flying birds or running squirrels

Your the first teacher 'out of many ive tried' thet actually works on more about the technique than just the process which for us learning is gold , we cant cross the river without drowning if we dont build a bridge , thank you

You can be a good player and ok teacher but man you got both covered. You go slow, explain everything in detail in a way I think even beginners can understand. Keep up the good work and thank you. We need people like you in our schools teaching our kids. If you wanna learn to play or play better people this is your guy

when playing legato on an unplugged electric, are you getting any sound 'from the other side of the fret' ? e.g. if you hammer on from open to 7, can you also hear the note created between the 6th fret & bridge? wondering if good technique needs to eliminate that unwanted chirp or if it doesn't matter on electric
This channel is really good for guitar technique, but you can check out some of Rick Beato‘s stuff on TH-cam if you need help with your ear training. You are probably too old, as am I, to develop perfect pitch, but you can develop relative pitch as good as anyone on the planet. That just comes from practicing listening to the sound of different intervals, or distance, from one note to the next. But then again… He may have some material for your ear training on this channel. I don’t know, but you can check.

I have practiced and worked at EVERYTHING I’m HALFWAY decent at in life and I have strong will power and I’m not a “short fuse “ who blows up (we all know those guys) at the slightest mistaken movement or blames others for my mistakes or downfalls and I can WITH NO EGO TELL YOU I CAN EASILY put on a MASTERCLASS IN PATIENCE AND STOICISM-but -for some reason legato; has had me in literal tears, sweats, NERVOUS BREAKDOWNS , even throwing my 1979 LP CUSTOM BLACK BEAUTY (on the bed🥶, still) just a grown man acting like a bloody 3 year old moaning in grief out loud, WHINING like a premenstrel MARE. 🥸. Yes even for a master it’s confounding and must be focused on while everything else is blocked out. It must be broken down concentrated on, just like everything else THE CORRECT WAYS MUST BE focused on, correct techniques, (i absentmindedly was trying a crazy undoable maneuver for years that kept me jaded) finally I get it. GodBless & Godspeed (soon for us all on the fretboard) !!

this is why it worth getting a nylon string guitar and attempting to learn some Tarrega - arched fingers and tips only is a must
Yes but when playing with extreme gain you need some muting on the higher strings which may not be noticed with a nylon classical
