Does the heater keep the windows defrosted on the inside well enough? I think fog and frost would be a big problem. I noticed you can't see out the side windows at all.

How much more fuel does it use? Seems like you might have to refuel quite often

I think they're called safari windows. That's what VW called them on their Transporter. I wonder if a half-track would be almost as effective without as much cost?

Main problem is that these machines are too wide for snowmobile trails and are not allowed on most trail systems

I could see these kits on a defender for light grooming, get the piston bullys out there on the weekend and then run the side by side during the week.

How much better are the Appache’s in the snow compared to the 360’s? Specifically is there a big difference in traction or floatation?

I have been using the Teflon coating spray on all my winter gear snowblower snowmobile and the snow does not stick that should help you guys out a lot if you use it

Look guys we all know the only reason we complain about the prices on this stuff is because it's more than we wish to pay... we all know if we were loaded we'd have one of these....

Can you imagine getting stuck in that thing? Digging out a stuck 500 pound snowmobile can be difficult, digging out a 2000 pound tracked pig of a sxs is entirely different.

Oh god. Memories of the 22" Indy wide track my parents owned back in 05'. Got it stuck, was by myself. I couldn't imagine digging out a Fiat 500 on tracks.

Seems like a big waste of money,by the time you buy the tracks and accessories and windshield and cabs and windshield you can buy a very nice snow mobile

    • @bob15479
      @bob15479 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

yeah but if you've already spent so much money on the turbo $9k to make it a year-round machine is pretty reasonable

Except your snowmobile cannot carry 600 lbs of gear unless you have an alpine.

have to see more footage in the deepest snow and hillclimbs. Lets see footage of these thing's limits. Still think attack angle on the rears could be better and wider.

    • @KTMcaptain

no, get the base turbo version, spend a few hundred to get power you want from it, add on the windshield & wiper washer for $1500 and convert the half doors to full/soft doors and roof for $1500.... Base is $19k, but lets get the $21k DS Turbo R 172hp model... Ok, that's $24K for X3 with windshield, wiper, washer, roof, full doors, and soft windows. The fancy tracks are $7100 with mounting kit while the cheaper 360LT track system is $5400 and the DPS module is $120ish...
      .
You could get a 172hp model with tracks for under $30k, or throw the fancier tracks on and spend about $31.5k.
      .
Unless you're pounding whoops I don't see the need for the internal bypass shocks and couple extra inches of travel. If you want a locked front end Halo has an elocker for $900 and torq has a detroit style for $400...
      .
... and it wouldn't be too hard to fit a heater core off a coolant line and fan to heat the cab, or just run some cheap heated seat covers.

for the price it should have an integrated polymer fender over the front tracks to prevent all that snow thrown around... I'd rather have an enclosed sxs with a heater than a snowmobile any day

windshield wiper? thats so low tech...just use rain-X...that stuff works so much better in rain, ice snow whatever...many times ive nbeem driving down the highway and all the other cars are pulling over from hard rain and if i can see through their windshield i notice they cant see anything with old timey windshield wipers

Hmmm...seems like way to much money for something that could never keep up with the old $3000 rev chassis sled I ride. If your worried about being in a cab with heat maybe you should volunteer to groom trails for those of us who actually ride real snow machines 😁
