Cleveland-Cliffs Toledo HBI Project: Site Survey from October 16, 2020

Cleveland-Cliffs is building its first hot-briquetted iron (HBI) production plant in Toledo, OH. The largest construction project in the Great Lakes, the new plant will have the nominal capacity to produce 1.9 million metric tons of HBI per year. When construction is completed, Cliffs expects to be the sole producer of HBI in the region.
