On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you prefer more up close and personal dogfights consider the IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battle series and experience intense WWII aerial combat over famous battlefields such as Stalingrad, Moscow, Rhineland and Normandy. Fight in and against Russian, American, German, British warbirds such as the P-51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, Bf-109, FW-190, Spitfire, Hurricane and rugged IL-2 Sturmovik attack plane. You can also fly legendary SPADS, Fokkers and Camels in WWI dogfights over the trenches of WWI and discover your inner Red Baron! And all of this can be experienced in jaw dropping virtual reality!

My First PvP Kill in the Yak-1B unlucky for the poor guy he got sucked into that dogfight in a co-energy state with a yak-1 otherwise I think the fight would have leaned much more in his favor.

That's some seriously good flying, a K4 with MW50 (or even without) should have every advantage over a 1b except for turn radius. You did the right thing dragging him down low and keeping the pressure on. He should have extended and climbed away to make you chase him. Well done!
Isn't mw50 restricted for use bellow 3km? Or something like that? Played IL 2 ages ago on skies of fire server
MW50 is at 6k or below by the manual, not sure what server settings would have been. Even so, a K4 without MW50 is essentially a G14 and still should have had the advantage in the engagement.
I wouldn't expect the K-4 to lose this fight, ever.
Imagine a Yak 3. Germans were ordered not to engage a Yak 3 below 5k alt.
I would like to see you playng the series of the game, there's a lot of campaing series, where you battle with your aircraft in realistic fights in the history, like Battle of Britain, Spanish Civil War, Invasion of Stalingrad, Battle of Moscow, Battle over Berlim, etc, maybe you would do a serie of those campaing's
The 109 pilot took gunpods, a huge mistake for a 1v1 dogfight.
It was a good idea in 1946, not sure what have changed.

@@hippoace I loved the Nazi 30mm back in 1946. It's almost always 1 hit 1 kill back then, so I don't have to do a lot of turn fighting, just spam 30mm rounds at merge
Loving the Il 2 content. Yak 1 vs 109K is a bit of a mismatch in favor of the Germans (despite your victory.) 109F or G would be the historic matchup. I'm an old Il2 Mk I vet who hadn't touched flight simming in over a decade. Missed out on the Mk 2 debacle with the BoB title (I still miss Oleg, though.) Got back into Great Battles late last year. Plus, the NKVD wants to talk to your ground crew and superior officer. Winter paint in summer over the Caucus?

109’s are always good at getting guns on quickly at the top of vertical scissors, they “flop” over but are stable enough to aim.
Lesson learned. Never go slow in the weeds with a Yak. I really thought he had you in the first move.

Brewster pilots were not happy about their appereance. On the recieving end of zoom & boom.
Just simply had to have fighters escorting fighters. The BF-109 sqadron split in 3. One covering Helsinki. One covering Kotka and one flying top cover for the BWs at Suulajärvi.

DCS needs to take notes on VR optimization from Il2
The skill pods (gun pods) really hamper the knife fighting abilities of the 109. The enemy pilot should not have turned at all, much less tried to engage in a protracted turn fight.
Would love to get into this but alas, can't afford it on my disability. I must live the dogfights vicariously through GS!!
GS, I wonder.if the game reflects this but from what I read the Yak 1 was not as stable in its turns and could be out rated in a two circle fight by the 109.. however it was an even match in the one circle.. Now I don't know if that is consistent with the BF109G or the F model.. I know that it was marginally better that the G but out classed by the F.
I did have to apply a lot of counter rudder otherwise the yaks wings did want to dip out from under me in a turn
Yak 1 and Yak 1B are different, the 'B' version is lighter, has better aerodynamics and a boosted engine.
The yak1b is super fun but for the love of god close your radiators a little

There is no Tejas or Block 3 JF-17 for any simulator. Heck the Block 3 JF-17 isnt even in service in real.

@@hippoace the K4 has a 30mm Mk108 cannon. No need for the added weight of gunpods. Especially since the Yak has an advantage in maneuverability to start with

@@hippoace I wouldn't really even say that. A lot of lesser experienced sim guys think more guns = more lethal. Sure, more guns do more damage but the shortfall of this is that only works if you can get your guns on your enemy. Too many people saddle themselves with unnecessary weight from gunpods and make themselves uncompetitive because they bleed energy too fast and can't turn. Gunpods developed to take out unescorted B-17s, not Yaks. It is rare that someone carrying gunpods on a 109 isn't an easy kill.

I never saw any flying on a server. All has been quick match „PvP“ so far.

That was not a bf109k4, F4 or G2.
Anyway the fact he chose to do a 1v1 against a yak and equip pods under his wings lost him the fight after the 1st turn.
It is either a F4 or K4 because the G series do not have retractable tail wheels.
