- Starting July 1, 2019, we are bringing Select Bus Service to the M14 A/D.
Select Bus Service (SBS) is a package of improvements designed to target and correct the circumstances that slow down buses and make service unreliable. Citywide, customers are more satisfied with their SBS bus than their local or limited (LTD) bus.
On July 1, we will introduce to the M14 A/D:
Better bus stop spacing
Off-board fare payment (you may have noticed new machines at your stop)
All-door boarding

What would be really nice is to have bus stops with barriers so that cars and trucks cannot park in the bus stops and make it easier for people with limited mobility so they won't have to go into the middle of the street in order to board the bus.

M14A/D SBS service is not specifically just because of the L Project. It is to speed up service along 14th Street because it is a busy street, and pretty much now all articulated routes in Manhattan that are based out of Michael J. Quill Depot are using this updated SBS livery fleet, and the fleet of the M15 SBS changed from the 2010 Novabus LFS Articulated fleet to the 2019 New Flyer XD60 Xcelsior Articulated fleet, even though it is based out of Mother Clara Hale Depot.

@MTA Bus Faner! Most know better than not to get sexual contact with others in different sex marriage. I felt stuck up that in some countries like Jamaica, Nigeria, etc. , have homo marriage as illegal and I find that as an oppression. I also have a male friend who is in same sex marriage, and he went to Nigeria in March and they told him, "wish you make a baby for me", he would only say that "It will never happen". He was careful to not express the truth because, it is illegal in Nigeria. This is also why many are DL because of those, and this is how men gets sucidal 3x as much for those.

It would have been nice to see the Busway proposal go through. I'm neither for nor against the protesters. Admittedly, more cars would have needed to be redirected. Perhaps along with buses, HOVs could travel along those streets. That's how they created those Lanes on the Staten Island Expressway.
Now the M14 SBS can share fleet with the other SBS routes at Michael J. Quill Depot.
MP.4 Channel That’s good. Keep in mind that there will be 15 XE60s coming in to displace the 2016-17 XD60s to Tuskegee Airmen Depot. They will primarily run on the M14 SBS, but can use the chargers on 42nd Street if they wish.

Will OMNY be on the SBS machines?
Not yet
Not yet, OMNY is only for Staten Island Buses and the Lexington Avenue Line south of 42nd Street and the Eastern Parkway Line west of Atlantic Avenue. But don't worry! OMNY will be everywhere by 2022-ish!
I know this is a very old comment, but I think they'll be on each door, and not the sidewalk machines itself. I remember seeing a bracket near the back door of an M14-SBS that seems like it would fit an OMNY reader.

Agreed with u on that the bx42 should be a limited bus; however based on the Bronx bus route redesign its kind of stupid what they did to the Bx40/42. Thankfully the D60s are gone so idk tbh

MJQ has their needs(especially when I was working with them), like how the needed XD60s, they took from Tuskegee Airmen in order to fill for their +Select Bus Services until their new LFSAs comes. I'm still wanting for FB to get back their XD60s, but their says for B46 +SBS and the stops in construction are not up yet. It's now a near summer pick(also posted a vid of the reconstruction yesterday, along with M14 +SBS launch). There's also 3 B46 +SBS stops towards Bed-Stuy that needs reconstruction.
King Auto & Xcelsior Operator They will get XD60s for the B46 SBS soon once MQ gets their 15 XE60s. However, the Flatbush fleet is going to be a mix of 2017 and 2019 XD60s, more specially 17 2017 XD60s for the B46 and 36 2019 XD60s for the B44. Total of 53 XD60s for Flatbush.
Quill would have enough buses for the M14 SBS since 21 XD60s plus 15 XE60s equals 36 buses for them, alongside the 113 LFSAs that they will also share with the other SBS routes at Quill.
