The name of the Sikkimese song is "Asaar" by Bipul Chettri... I was looking for this song for a little longer than one month... And finally I found it in a local bar in Lachung near Blue Point Homestay... It was a journey... The song is about the month Asaar and it's a sad song... I think it's about a guy recalling his loved one, "Kanchi" in the month of Asaar or the start of monsoon... Bipul sir is based in Kalimpong... "Pani Paryo sarara vijo Kalipong Sahara, Kalo kalo badal dhari fakirayo asaro"... It was something else to find a song while we were drunk on Tomba (Local beer), chatting with the local drivers and the shop owner... It's as if the journey of this song and me intertwined and took the shape of a soul, that night in Lachung... With everyone inside the shop, being a part of that life... And for a brief amount of time that life felt like home... I believe in soulmates and if soul is the essence of something tangible then I think that moment was my soulmate... Thank you Travelling Mondays for introducing me to this song... It's been a pleasure getting to know you and the places through your eyes and ofc lens... ❤
