- KHECHEOPALRI LAKE - Located 150 Km from Gangtok and 30 Km from Pelling town, the lake is sacred for both Buddhists and Hindus, and is believed to be a wish fulfilling lake.
When you reach the lakeside, you can't help but feel an immense sense of peace. Most people who visit the place offer prayers to the lake. Either it is the quiet prayers of the people or the sight of Buddhist monks peacefully chanting prayers; it is impossible to describe the sense of peace one gets here. When they say silence is beautiful, it must be this.
Some say that the lake, when viewed from above, resembles a footprint. Some believe the footprint is that of the Goddess Tara Jetsun Dolma; the Hindus believe it is that of Lord Shiva; the Buddhists believe it is that of Lord Budha.
There’s a popular belief about Khecheopalri Lake that there can’t be any leaves floating in the lake water. In case of any stray leaves that happen to fall in the lake, birds do the job of picking them up. Whether this is an absolute fact or not, we don’t know. But what we know is that these local beliefs make a destination so much more interesting.

your video brought back some wonderful memories. I came there almost 10 years ago. From Khechaopari lake we took a short but tough hike up and stayed at a wonderful homestay for 2 nights. It was so relaxing and peaceful. Then we went to Yuksom which was really nice as well!

I Love this place. First I saw this on Travelling Monday's video and I felt that peace within the video then I actually visited that lake that was just lovely that peace out there that calmness uff and also I really got my wish fullfilled😌 I wasn't thinking about any god when I was praying there, I just believed in the vibe out there😌 I want to visit there again so calm.......if you're looking for peace just visit there with a calm mind I can assure there is a very positive energy you'll feel that and also don't forget to feed the fishes out there❤️

Excellent 👌👌👌 just mesmerizing videography ❤❤❤. The Khecheopalri Lake and the place around it is beautiful and different. When we visited the place, we found clean, transparent water with a moist ambience surrounding it. And some rare species of plants were there.

Filming is superb
One of those very few places where I felt a sense of calm which I cannot describe in words…it was mystical magical and totally an out of the world experience..
I went with my sister and friends and for them it was a second trip just to accompany me
I was cured by White Tara Maa so I absolutely believe of an eye condition ( it’s a long history which I can’t write ) and went to pay my 🙏🙏 to Her heart filled with Gratitude..
The temple was closed but I just kneeled down at the red door and prayed and thanked her…
Then the Lake…it just blew me away…those colored prayer flags …the pitter patter of the raindrops …the absolute calm..I have tears when I think of that day…
I could spend a whole day there just sitting meditating looking dreaming ..
I’m flummoxed as to how people go there to make reels …I never did take a selfie but would have loved to with the lake behind to look at the picture when I felt low or just to feel good…

And Rabentse,which is located near Pelling is the third capital of sikkim.

Even I don't like such reel culture and poses. I keep myself far from all such acts. But who are we to judge them? On one hand we keep on saying such thing, "if it makes you happy do it" "if it makes sense to you do it" and then we judge people. Hights of hypocrisy right? If something makes people happy I am no one to judge nor are you. We are no one to make such remarks like you did in your video.
