Hello. I'm a long time local business owner in Avalon "Catalina E-Bike Rentals". You are correct that it is easy to navigate Avalon by walking although you are definitely missing out if you don't travel our scenic roads. The views are amazing and well worth seeing. Renting an E-Bike or golf cart is the only way to go. Great video and analysis of or local spots but definitely needed to correct you on the Ebike or golf cart experience. 🤙😁
Where can I rent a golf cart? How many miles did you walk on that day? I have 2 kids and a senior with me. Also, is there a sandy beach area for kids to play?
@@Tris-Mimi The golf carts and bikes are between the dock that the tender takes you to and the main town. Less than 2-3 blocks probably to the first spot. This day we did not walk as much as some others, since if staying in the town area things are pretty close. There is a sandy beach area you can play at, but the water is very cold, but you could go in if brave.

OK... now I wanna go try another cruise... we didn't care for it the first time we did it... but it was a tiny ship and we were on a really tight budget back then. I think it's time to try a big ship and these days we have a better budget.
I'm curious about the initial trip from Long Beach to Catalina. A regular ferry takes under an hour but the itinerary shows a full day of cruising from Long Beach to Catalina. How slow is the ship going?
Good question but we don’t know the answer, I would guess we drove around away from the island during the night like a big circle then came back. Definitely not driving too fast though so smooth sailing

I have cards for just about every family of casinos there and bounce around using comps here and there, etc. QUESTION: Why do you see some people who do gamble quite a bit on tables or slots and when the dealers ask them if they'd ike a card, they immediately bristle at the idea. "No, I'm good." -- I've never understood that.
I don't get it honestly. Maybe they think of it similarly to signing up for stores where they just don't want to take the time and get a bunch of emails, and not understanding the benefits that come from it. Who Knows?

Sorry we totally forgot to add that in at the end. We spent just under $150 total for extras this trip. That does not include our two bottles of wine which were betweeen $15-25 each and the 12 pack of Diet Coke. When we do the full drink package it is around $500 and the dining package for a shorter cruise like this is around $200. As you can tell it was a lot cheaper but obviously we also drank a lot less on this trip than if we have the drink package. Thanks a lot for watching I hope you enjoyed

I lived in Avalon 1978-1982, graduated from HS there. Wonderful place. Avalon is the town, Catalina is the island name.

Oh boy Susan wait til you see the ship we are taking in May - Mega Ship incoming! Budget and size of the boat 100% can make the difference in my mind.
