When I lived in Rogers Park in the mid to late 1970s, I regularly went to that 400 Theater a bit south of Pratt. Saw Live and Let Die there. Saw that horror movie Last House on the Left. Saw a lot of movies there. Price was I think $1.50. Smoking not allowed, but some still did. Down the street several blocks was the Granada Theater near Loyola.

I was just looking at apartments in Rogers Park. I cant decide on a neighborhood to move to in the future.

anywhere near Sheridan and Harold is beautiful. my day is literally going to sol cafe for a latte then going to rogers park Beach to chill out. people are very friendly here.

It is all pretty good from Howard to Devon between the lake and Ridge. West of Ridge is the West Ridge (or West Rogers Park) neighborhood which is very nice indeed but which is sort of boring- no trendy bars or restaurants. I like it best close to Sheridan Road as it's a block from the lake and the beaches and the public transportation is excellent.

@@795media4 To be honest, No. It's a lot calmer although there isn't that much killing as there was but of course everywhere has violence so It is safe to say it got a little better. And the gentrification roll has played a part too.

@@795media4 , No, it's pretty good now and many people are moving up here from nabes further down the lake front. There are many new businesses and people have poured massive amounts of money into restoring some of the old houses and buildings around here.

@@miteco1 It's gone, replaced by a new apartment building. It's too bad that Katie and Michael let it go downhill. It used to be wonderful but by the 2000s, it had gone downhill. The food was served lukewarm, the sanitation was iffy, and in general it was tired and dispirited. Sad.
