Travelling from México to Scandinavia was a breakthrough experience in my life, i was driving in Icelandic highways seeing such a beautiful countryside and landscapes and listening to this music. I just can't thank enough for having this music around me when i needed it the most. Music like this, is what keeps me living in this world.
Incredible but true. Quiet, long lasting if not eternal, mind resourcing. The psychological effect of mediation in action. Difficult not to feel grateful. Many thanks, guys. Rest in peace, dear Esbjörn. Vincent
There's a funny stereotype of all Swedes being like blondies singing ABBA...and then there's this. Like an Ingmar Bergmann movie, almost. Nobody can do bleak quite like a Scandinavian perhaps, except maybe the Icelanders, if we hear from them more often. Inexplicably, this tune is putting the Lapland film Pathfinder (1987) into my head this morning. But, then again, I am quite mad.
"Cool". I don't think I've heard Johannsson's work, but from a Wikipedia description it certainly sounds interesting. The idea of mixing traditional organ with synths appeals to me a bit like Svensson's mixing piano with electronics. An Irish composer, Doyle (can't remember his first name right now), goes for that sound too. Roger Doyle, I think it is.
Hey! now I gotcha! : ) Don't get me wrong, I heard your music in "radio mode" - then I found this yt vid just to say THANKS! It's a pleasure, my pleasure : )

I only heard this kind of emotion in Johann Johannsson's work, outside Scandinavians... And he is an Icelander.

Owen McGee, when you get the chance, check out his album Englaborn. It's a marvel of cold, deep emotion, in my humble opinion. :)
This escalated quickly (or maybe not quickly but it did escalate).
