As a Non-Tamil audience of Tamil cinema (I'm Malayalee) the number of cinema with 'caste' spirit is a lot now-a-days. Almost feels like encashing on a particular topic. It's like Tarantino makes a movie on slavery in USA as Django Unchained is ok, but imagine if in every Tarantino movie its just about slavery, then it will feel like encashing. As far as caste and religion is considered.... i dont think it should matter which god u pray or if u do not pray any god or if ur agnostic. Bro, I don't think you are casteist, but you are very uninformed about the state of casteism and the levels and flavors of casteism still existing. You can roast or complain about the movies as you wish no problem, but to question why all their movies have caste related issues shows you don't understand the deep multigenerational trauma and pain that casteism has perpetrated. When you have that kind of trauma from the time you are born, day in and day out, you can't escape it. I believe both Mari and Pa. Ranjith want to shed a light and start a conversation about caste issues, and film-making is just the medium they chose for that. If you are tired of watching movies with caste-related message, imaging how tired people who face casteism every day must be. It is a privilege to be able to view cinema as just cinema. But the fact is cinema is extremely influential and important culturally, especially in Tamil. If you have not felt the pain of not being included in cinema except as a caricature in a negative light (whether it is a specific caste, socioeconomic class, gender, or even certain physical features like overweight or dark skinned), it will be hard for you to understand the importance and impact of being included as interesting multi-dimensional characters. Their movies are more than just movies. Of course you can critique about whatever you want about the script or technical issues or whatever, but you have to understand the importance of their work. It is not only insensitive but plain wrong to say that talking about caste always perpetuates more caste divisions. It is the opposite. Talking and accepting the bad state of things is the first step to change. You feel like you are silenced because you can't talk about the movies. Imagine how unrepresented people feel after decades and centuries of never having their stories heard. Don't analyse Pa Ranjith's speeches, he becomes emotional and arrogantly conveys unintentional messages. That's the main problem. But analyse his movies. He doesn't show that much arrogance but conveys the message to the point. He portrays the lifestyle of diff people rather than shouting anger about caste untouchability alone. Violence may not be the solution unlike Karnan but it was a story built on a true event. The director left the audience to decide whether violenece od right or wrong, by conveying the history alone. As a Non-Tamil audience of Tamil cinema (I'm Malayalee) the number of cinema with 'caste' spirit is a lot now-a-days. Almost feels like encashing on a particular topic. Bro, I don't think you are casteist, but you are very uninformed about the state of casteism and the levels and flavors of casteism still existing. You can roast or complain about the movies as you wish no problem, but to question why all their movies have caste related issues shows you don't understand the deep multigenerational trauma and pain that casteism has perpetrated. When you have that kind of trauma from the time you are born, day in and day out, you can't escape it. I believe both Mari and Pa. Ranjith want to shed a light and start a conversation about caste issues, and film-making is just the medium they chose for that. If you are tired of watching movies with caste-related message, imaging how tired people who face casteism every day must be.
It is a privilege to be able to view cinema as just cinema. But the fact is cinema is extremely influential and important culturally, especially in Tamil. If you have not felt the pain of not being included in cinema except as a caricature in a negative light (whether it is a specific caste, socioeconomic class, gender, or even certain physical features like overweight or dark skinned), it will be hard for you to understand the importance and impact of being included as interesting multi-dimensional characters. Their movies are more than just movies.
Of course you can critique about whatever you want about the script or technical issues or whatever, but you have to understand the importance of their work. It is not only insensitive but plain wrong to say that talking about caste always perpetuates more caste divisions. It is the opposite. Talking and accepting the bad state of things is the first step to change.
You feel like you are silenced because you can't talk about the movies. Imagine how unrepresented people feel after decades and centuries of never having their stories heard. Of course, I'm sure there are people who will unreasonably call you casteist, but you do have to be more gracious and try to understand why they might be reacting this way. It's a lot of trauma.
For example, using the phrase "untouchable" in your thumbnail under the excuse of sarcasm, knowing the context of that word and the pain it can cause makes it look like you are trying to get people to react a certain way to your videos. You can put out thoughtful, useful critique of any movie you want without stooping to such tactics. You can do better.

Don't analyse Pa Ranjith's speeches, he becomes emotional and arrogantly conveys unintentional messages. That's the main problem. But analyse his movies. He doesn't show that much arrogance but conveys the message to the point. He portrays the lifestyle of diff people rather than shouting anger about caste untouchability alone. Violence may not be the solution unlike Karnan but it was a story built on a true event. The director left the audience to decide whether violenece od right or wrong, by conveying the history alone. 1.in pariyerum perumal,that principal scene is enough to tell the real practical solution that you have to take books instead of weapon to rise against this discrimination.this is what ambedkar did years before and that is how you have to fight.
2.in jai bhim,that dialogue where surya tells ''ella jaathi layum thirudan irupan,ana anda oru thirudan naala motha jaathi um thirudan solla kudathu''.this line enough to set the whole tone,vision of movie.this dialogue not only applies for caste but also for religion,enthnicity,race whatever.these type of noble messages should be said to society rather than taking this caste theme for granted for directors like ranjith and maari selvaraj

Okay while I agree with your comments at some places, I also have some disagreements.
1. Genuinely I liked Kaala and Karnan. I agree both of them had their prose and cons. Which all movies have. But I am pretty sure Maari was mentioning about the "violence is bad troupe" that upper caste groups use when they are uncomfortable with the oppressed fighting back. This happened for both Karnan and Asuran.
2. About the modern form of untouchability that's being practiced today. "Hygiene" as a reason is just an excuse at many places. For example till this date my Grandma gives Tea and Food to our house help in a seperate place which is just for her. And every time I fight against this, guess what her reply is, "Hygiene". Avanga aluka irupaga thats why. Epdi epdi enga veetu alukka clean pandra andha akka alukku, ivlo alukka uruvaakura enga family suthama.
So just like this there are so many such modern practices that's being followed here. And untouchability creates a system of paranoia amongst its victims, they are constantly scared of being humiliation and discrimination. This is a scar that's left behind by a social system that we all are part of. For that we must be ashamed and empathetic.
3. All villains = upper caste/lower caste. Both of these issues are real. Essentialization of a character to a whole community is a defining feature of Identity politics. I have observed this issue with Illayaraja. Take no mistake Illayaraja's work of art is beyond any kind of appreciation I can give. But Pa. Ranjith celebrating him in his Natchathiram nagargirathu as well as in public medium seems to be based on his identity of being born as a Dalit. Inga identity vida ideology pakurathu tha seri. He should be condemned for endorsing Right wing ideology thats fundamentally against the dalit wellbeing.
But the conversation between Maari and Pa Ranjith that he mentioned is a healthy discussion avlo tha.
